Why does he hate sleeping so much?!?

All this week, Emmett has developed this really fun habit of waking up several times per night. Usually, he nurses and goes straight back to sleep. Well this week, he refuses to go back to sleep. He'll scream until I eventually take him downstairs to play for another hour or two. He's perfectly happy when he's crawling around and playing.Then, when I finally get him back to sleep, he'll wake up 2 hours later and do it all over again.

We can't figure out what's going on with him. It could be teething, but I'm not sure. His bottom 2 teeth came through a couple of weeks ago, and I see no sign of any more coming through. He finished up Leap 7 a few weeks ago also.

Have any of you experienced anything similar? If so, did it pass? I'm afraid that we are creating a really bad habit of playing in the middle of the night, but I don't know what else to do with him when he just cries and cries until we do.

Does he seem sick at all? Mine did this and then he ended up having a double ear infection....

I agree with the growth spurt. DS was waking up for about a week and not wanting to go back to sleep. Then, one night, things were back to normal. I am sorry though because I know it is rough.

He does have the start of a cold, so I was a little worried about an ear infection, but it doesn't seem to bother him at all during the day. When he's had ear infections in the past, they really hurt him and he would develop high fevers.

I'm hoping its a growth spurt like yours @JoJo716 and that he'll go back to sleeping soon. Its nice to hear that others have gone through this situation and come out alive on the other side, haha!
