Separation anxiety already?!

DS will be 5 mo next week, and it seems like he is already experiencing symptoms of separation anxiety. Lately, he freaks when I put him down, and I have to be either holding him or right beside his face for him to fall asleep. If he wakes up, and I'm right there, he's usually good. But if he wakes up, and I'm not there, watchout! And when he's fussing with DH holding him, the second I take him, even if I'm holding him same way as DH, he seems to settle instantly. Do you think this could be separation anxiety already? Or am I reading too much into it? When did your DC experience separation anxiety?

DD has started showing signs of it.  She fusses when other people (other than myself, DH or her grandmothers) hold her and will only calm down if I talk to her or she can see me.
