What are some non baby products that you love?

Hi gals! I thought it might be fun if we shared some non baby items that we love/can't live with out. It can be anything from beauty supplies, household cleaners, kitchen stuff, hair products, etc. I will start.

I am a make up junky. While I typically wear department store make up (mostly Chanel), I occasionally stumble upon some cheaper gems. Like this one! Best cheap mascara I have ever used. I have short, light, not too thick lashes. And this stuff works so well at lengthining and volume with out being clumpy! Maybelline One by One Volume Express.

This isn't an exciting product but I just love the way Toms of Maine apricot deodorant smells!

I just can't stand all the other baby powder scents on the market - I don't want to smell like BO but I also don't want to smell like a diaper!
  • @finnaroo -- I love Method too. Just bought their hand soap at Target today because its on sale. Have you tried Mrs. Meyers?? Wonder if its sold everywhere or just in the south. You are in the south right?
  • P.s. I'm typing one handed. I see all my grammatical errors!
  • I just bought a Revlon lip stain balm crayon at Target. The color stays all day for me (but it does fade just a little after a couple hours), but it doesn't dry out your lips. I freaking love it, and I'm going to buy more this week. I've been looking for something I can wear to give my face some color, but still be able to kiss my baby's cheeks all day long.
  • This is fun!! I have a serious Chapstick addiction...and my lips aren't even slightly chapped. I have a Palmers Cocoa Butter stick in my pocket at all times. It's huge and looks like a glue stick (a student of mine actually used it once) but makes my lips soooooooo soft

  • 100% Pure Coffee Bean eye cream. It smells so good I want to eat it.

Oh and pretty much everything else by 100% Pure. Good stuff, good company.

DevaCurl hair products.  If any of you have curly hair- they are the best!  They keep this uncontrollable jew fro silky, shiny, and curly for days.  And they are all 0 or 1 on the EWG Skin Deep site- so they're very low in chemicals too!

  • @mmm50 I agree, DevaCurl rocks!!

EOS lip balm, maybelline mega plush mascara, bare minerals, yes to cucumbers facial wipes, nars lip gloss in orgasm, naked 2 eye shadow palette, suave dry shampoo.

    I'm apparently a product whore! I'm sure there's more I'm missing!

Oh God, make-up. For eyeshadow I love Tarte and Smashbox. Make Up Forever has the best foundation, concealer, and powder. Benefit's Benetint, They're Real Mascara, and Watt's Up Highlighter are awesome. I love Nars blush. For nail polish I like Dior and Opi.

Perfumes I love are Stella and Issey Miyake.

Grapefruit scented anything makes me smile.

I love, love, love Tuberose hand soap by Dolce Mia and I keep some in each bathroom.

I was just in the kitchen and remembered some others. I use white vinegar to clean almost everything. Bar Keeper's friend shines my stainless steel sink beautifully.

If you've never used grey salt for cooking you are really missing out. And you have to get yourself a bottle of Cremant d'Alsace pink sparkling wine.

We're makeup soulmates. There's a post (111 pages and counting!) on GBCN about makeup recs and I pretty much went out and bought all the faves. It was bad news for my wallet but ohhhh I am a fan of:

    Naked 3 Palette
    Tarte waterproof eyeliner
    Urban Decay eyeshadow primer
    Benefit They're Real mascara
Tarte Amazonian Clay 12-hr Foundation (applied with a Beauty Blender- that thing rocks!)
    Benefit Erase Paste brightener/concealer
    Benefit That Gal primer
    NARS The Multiple stick
    Tarte Amazonian Clay finishing powder

    Bye, money. Nice knowing you.

  • @DebateThis‌ I've been meaning to try That Gal. You just reminded me! I've been using their POREfessional; that stuff is amazing. They have a Lollitint now that I'm dying to get.

Apparently, I have a lot of favorites because this just made me think of skin products.

Philosophy is terrific. I love their Purity Made Simple cleanser. Help Me is great for evening skin tone. I love my Clarisonic Mia brush. Bliss makes a great Lemon and Sage Body Butter.
My favorite night cream is Origins Night-A-Mins Mineral-Enriched Renewal Cream.
  • Love my clarisonic face brush. Yeah it was pricey but my skin looks and feels so much better.
  • Um. Wine. Wine is my favorite non baby product. Makeup is a close second ;-)

Cupcake Red Velvet wine! Or Trader Joe's...I forget the name, but they have a sparkling peach wine. These are my go-to "I just wanna sit and have a bottle of wine " wines. (meaning, they're not super fancy, and I wouldn't serve th with a nice meal. They're more your lazy-Saturday-afternoon wine. ;) )

In a not-so-fun theme: Spray Nine from Home Depot! That stuff will clean ANYTHING!!! (But make sure to wear gloves when you use it!)
  • @debatethis I will have to try some of those! Thanks! I do have the Nars Multiple stick and the Urban Decay eyeshadow primer-- both amazing products I can't live with out!

Try the Tarte eyeliner next, I think. It has amazing staying power on its own but if you use it with the UD primer, it could take a bomb blast and still look great. Bonus: it comes with its own brush. :)

  • I love my Mary Kay skin care products and makeup. I used to get everything 50% off since my friend sold it and would sell it to me at her cost. Now she's not selling it anymore and I'm all torn up about paying full price!

Also I love OPI nail polish. Every time I go to the nail salon I won't even look at the other brands. ::: sticking nose in the air :::

I love the Costco brand stuff (Kirland) for a lot of products around the house.

    And Apple products for lyfe.

I love this for cleaning my ceramic cooktop.
LOL, do you use the cleaner or the guy??   Either way is good hahaha!  :)

  • I love Ocean Potion sunscreen. I have sensitive, super pale skin and there is a 50 SPF that works great. It doesn't go on greasy like most sunscreens (which is awesome because I hate that) and it smells delicious like a creamsicle (a Popsicle with orange and vanilla ice cream).

I like my Amway cleaning products (window cleaner, all purpose cleaner, laundry detergent, dish soap, etc.).

Coconut oil. It's a great moisturizer for both my and Lyla's skin.

    Anniversary
  • When I hear Amway all I think about is the movie "Go."
  • Clorox wipes! I have white laminet counter tops (stupid people who owned my house before me..) and everything stains them! Strawberry lands on the counter for even a second and I've got a red spot.. Clorox wipes are the only thing that will take it off.

Not really a product but a site.. Snapfish!

And dove sensitive body wash. Only thing that doesn't bother my very sensitive skin..

OMG one of you brought up nail polish.... it's my obsession-- at least it was before LO because now I never have time to do my nails.  OPI and Zoya are the cheapest brands I have...... I have some that were $20+/bottle.  Deborah Lippman, Butter, and Dior are my faves.  I have over 300 bottles.... and may have just bought 2 more OPI collections today.

  • Anything made by aveeno for the face. It makes my skin feel amazing and it's not too expensive.

Nail Polish was my vice before I had LO as well. Every other day is have a new colour on my nails. My faves were OPI and Essie.

And for my "everyday wear", I love Lululemon. I can't live without my wonder unders and no limits tanks. I can't wait for my G cup to go back down to my DD so I can fit back into my old tanks.
  • I've recently started using products from Perfectly Posh and I'm in love haha! I have the Healer stick, the Caffiene stick, some hand lotion & lip balm. Everything is all natural & smells awesome!

    Second the Wonder Unders!

I put them on and decide they make my butt look so good that I don't even need to work out ;)
    Wonder unders are the best!

Unfortunately for me we are getting another Lululemon....3 miles from my house and within walking distance of my office. Shit.

@JoDoc - For whatever reason your post is going right over my head, I'm sure I'll get it at 3am tonight, unless you want to enlighten me ;),  but I use the cleaner. It is seriously awesome, no water required, just 2 papertowels, one to rub the stuff in and the to buff the cooktop.
You have a picture of the cleaning product and a very nice looking, well built shirtless man.  ;)

  • Makeup addict here too.  My faves:

    -Lancome eyelash primer

    -Dior Iconic Overcurl mascara

-Dr. Jart BB Cream (tan container)

-Physician's formula kaleidiscope pressed powder in Translucent

    -DevaCurl products

For all the nail polish addicts - you must, absolutely MUST try the Seche Vite base and fast dry top coat.  It has seriously changed by life.  One coat of base coat, two coats of color, and two coats of fast dry.  I'm not kidding, that shit is completely dry and hardened in 2 minutes.  I can do a manicure in under 5 minutes flat and then go fold laundry.

Speaking of - Zout stain remover is my god.

  • Oh...love this post I need to switch my foundations.  It's been so freaking sunless that I've gone Casper's girlfriend and I hate the shade down in the brand I was using before.  So I'm not going into any make-up products, because nothing is looking good on my pasty self.  Stupid weather.

For me, Hydraulic jeans.....LOVE Them!!!  Super comfy and not crazy expensive....now if I can just get in my pre-pregnancy ones....

    Doc Martin shoes...they last FOREVER!

I don't want to keep listing clothing items...it feels like a fetish!  I could sum up that if it's at Maurices, I'll probably buy it.
