Hey all... New to discussion boards!
I am 12 weeks pregnant. I have (had) absoultely no symptoms besides some sore breasts. I'm not showing, not gaining weight. I had US at 9 weeks and saw heartbeat and was told everything was fine. Tech told me I should be thankful I have no symptoms! The problem with that is that I don't feel "pregnant", so I keep thinking something is wrong. I won't have another US for a while. I made the mistake of downloading the My Baby's Beat app and I can't find the heartbeat. I'm not overly concerned with that, though, because it's so early in the pregnancy.
How do docs determine that all is well at your routine prenatal visits if they don't do an US? What should I expect? Am I crazy and worrying too much?
Re: Anyone else share my anxiety?
Hang in there! Apparently you will fell pregnant in the next few months! Be happy that you have had good check-ups and no symptoms. Doctors can tell a whole bunch just by the babies heartbeat. If they say you are ok then you are ok.
I actually got my Doppler off of ebay for $50 and can easily find the heartbeat, I have not heard of anyone using an app.
Around week 20 you should start to feel the little one move and that will be a relief to all of us!
How do docs know all is well between u/s? They use the Doppler at every appt to listen to baby's heart! If the heartbeat is strong and regular, they send you on your way. They also look at your health.
Your body is amazingly capable of growing and nurturing a little human. Try to have confidence in your body! Pregnancy is such an empowering time. It's ok to feel nervous, but don't let that emotion rule your pregnancy and steal away the joy of this exciting experience.

Besides, at 12 weeks, you are missing your third period so you do have one symptom.
