they did an early u/s UPDATED

I measured 5w2d and there was nothing in the sac. She said everyone is different and it doesn't mean it won't grow. It might be too early. I'll get my blood results tmro afternoon. Any thoughts about the empty sac? I've never had a scan this early so I don't know what to expect

*FX* that it's just too early. I have my first U/S tomorrow, I believe I will be 5w3d. I'm nervous because my HCG levels are low. They have been increasing but are still low. T & P for a happy and healthy outcome for both of us!

Ok so I Googled this and from what I have seen, responses, a sac doesn't appear until 5-6 weeks pregnant and the fetal pole doesn't show up until 6 weeks. "Empty" sacs are very common and usual for our gestational age. So no worries!

Thanks for posting this, cause when the same thing happens to me tomorrow, I will know to relax. Easier said than done, but I can try :) Happy, healthy vibes to you! :)

I had an u/s at 5w2d with my first pg and we just saw the sac, too. The tech told me it was normal for that early stage. I saw the baby and heartbeat 3 weeks later.

I have not introed yet, but saw your post and wanted to respond.  My last pregnancy I had an early ultrasound around 5w4d and according to my HCG levels, they should have been able to see something in the sac.  When they did the ultrasound they saw only the sac with nothing inside.  A week later I went back and they found a tiny bean with a heartbeat.  Just wanted to post a positive experience.  GL and hello!

I had an ultrasound at 8 weeks and all they could see was an empty sac ... So they thought I was just measuring behind at like 5 weeks.

I did miscarry but it sounds like an empty sac is normal at 5 weeks. He looked for a fetal pole but said it was either too soon or there wasn't one.

I was told today that they can not see anything or hear a heart beat unless you are over 10,500 usually.
