Re: ***Sunday Ticker Change***

  • Hey @ball.and.chain!! How are you on this lovely Sunday??

How many weeks? Fruit? 15/orange I think!

How are you feeling? Feeling good! Sleeping gets a little uncomfortable at times but that's to be expected.

Upcoming appts? Next Tuesday the 15th will be a routine appt with blood testing.

Thoughts? There is A LOT of stuff that we have to get for baby and I don't know where to start. It's overwhelming.

QOTW: baby moon? We won't be going on a babymoon. We don't have the money. However, if we had unlimited money, I would love to go to Australia or one of those really pretty islands that have hotel rooms over water!!

    BFP#1 4/17/2013 EDD 12/25/2013, MC 5/17/2013 8 weeks 3 days D&C 5/18/2013

  • How many weeks?  Fruit/veg [if you know]? 34 weeks/butternut squash

How are you feeling? This weekend has been a mixed bag.  Yesterday was my loss EDD, but it was also my second baby shower.  I am so happy for this baby, but I felt a little sad thinking about our other LO.  My shower was beautiful and I am actually glad I had it yesterday because it kept me focused on the happiness I have in my life right now.

Any upcoming appointments/milestones/pregnancy updates to share? I go back to the doctor next week.  My blood work came back normal from the stomach issues I was having and I haven't had any problems this week, so that is exciting.

Thoughts/vents? My family has been really amazing.  They are not very emotional people, but they have really changed that with my pregnancy.  It is the first grandchild and great grandchild, so there is a lot of excitement.  The venue had a shower scheduled for next weekend as well and those people called to cancel. They got the dates mixed up and canceled mine instead, so when my aunts and cousins arrived to set up, nothing was ready and the original room they wanted was no longer available.  I never would have known anything was wrong and it all turned out great.  My grandpa was really sweet and hosted a lunch for all the boys in the family at the same venue.  He is so excited about this baby and it is adorable.  My two childhood BFFs were there and my aunt got us all matching onesies for our LOs!  Also, my cousin who is away at college sent us the Woodie onesie because that was his favorite when he was little. My mom also got us a bookshelf(on top of the hundred million other things she has bought for us) and a library for LO.

QOTW: Will you (or did you) take a babymoon or last trip before the baby arrives?  If yes, where will/did you go?  Where would you go if money was no object? Haha, this is a loaded question for me.  DH and I were going to go on a cruise over my winter break.  We were using my bonus money from my furloughs being added back in.  We mentioned this to MIL and she said she wanted to buy us the cruise for Christmas.  Fast forward a few months later when she finally decides to book and it is sold out.  I was really bummed because we were going to just pay for it ourselves and book it early on.  DH and I are going to Cambria for a night this week since I am on spring break.  If money were no object, I would probably go back to Hawaii.
  • How many weeks?  Fruit/veg [if you know]? Almost 4wks. Poppy seed!

How are you feeling? Generally good, but soooooo weepy. I've cried three times in the last two days over completely crazy things. This afternoon, it was because my bacon at brunch tasted so good. No joke. SO was just looking at me in shock and then both of us were laughing hysterically. Fatigue set in over the last couple days and boobs are sore, but otherwise I'm doing okay.

Any upcoming appointments/milestones/pregnancy updates to share? Will go to OB tomorrow for betas/progesterone tests and also for my referral to a MFM. With the lupus and multiple m/c's, I am considered high risk for this pregnancy.

Thoughts/vents? No vents; just hoping and praying that this ends up being a healthy pregnancy. It will be interesting with DS being as active as he is. At least he's old enough to understand when I need a rest, but it will be an adjustment for us all. Also, we're moving 1000 miles away in just three months, and there is so much to do. Trying to keep my stress level down and take things one at a time, but we're in for a crazy summer!

QOTW: Will you take a babymoon or last trip before the baby arrives?  If yes, where will you go?  Where would you go if money was no object?  Not sure, but we'll probably end up doing a hiking trip if I'm feeling well enough. SO and I are both avid trail runners, and while I plan to ease up on running for this pregnancy (although we've got a 1/2 marathon in 4 weeks!), I know we'll want to be out exploring our new environment once we get moved. If money was no object? A cruise to the Greek Isles.

  • @haleyusf‌- good luck on your race! I did a half marathon at 4 weeks and 11 weeks this pregnancy and just stopped running a few weeks ago. Enjoy your run!
  • @hcorcoran -- thanks! I haven't been running much in the last weeks because of the m/c and now the new PG, but SO and I are both pretty avid runners during the season. It will definitely be an adjustment, although with moving from FL to KY this summer, we should get better running weather up north. FL is so stinking hot! Did you use a tummy support belt when you started showing? If so, any recommendations? Also, did you go by the 140bpm heart rate rule or did you just try to stay comfortable? TIA!

I used a band from Motherhood Maternity to help with my back once I hit about 21 weeks. I didn't follow any heart rate restrictions because my doctor didn't give me any. He just said to listen to my body and rest when I needed it.
  • How many weeks?  Fruit/veg [if you know]?  23 weeks!  Grapefruit!

    How are you feeling?
I'm in pain most of the time.  It's mostly my back, and having to stand all day at work doesn't help.

Any upcoming appointments/milestones/pregnancy updates to share?
Had an appt last Monday, and an unexpected office visit on Thursday.

Ifell partially down the stairs Thursday and landed on my butt, thankfully.  I immediately started bawling and called the dr office and put a call into a nurse about 2 minutes later.  Then, I texted DH, and he skipped his meeting and came straight home.  The nurse said I could come in or monitor myself for 24 hours if I wasn't bleeding or having knife like pains in my abdomen.  My back, butt, elbow, and foot hurt really bad, but my belly felt ok and I wasn't bleeding.  I thought about not going in, but DH wanted me to get checked out.  So, we went in, and they did a doppler check and talked to me for a little bit.  It was nice to have the reassurance from the dr. :) So, other than some pain, bruises, and having someone to cover half my shift the next day at work, all is well I guess. :)

    Thoughts/vents?
We had a cookout yesterday, and I found out that one of our friends who works with DH is having her DD's 1st bday party the same day as my shower.  I asked her if she knew what time she was having it, and while she gave me a couple of times she was thinking of (10-12 or 4-6), she said she probably won't know until it is closer because it depends on DD's sleep schedule.  I can't really move it either.  Besides already telling some people, I think that's the best day that works for my friend who is planning it, and the other weekends around then are taken up by other people's showers, birthdays, or weddings (and I work every other weekend).  So that whole group of over 10 people might not make it. :(

QOTW: Will you (or did you) take a babymoon or last trip before the baby arrives?  If yes, where will/did you go?  Where would you go if money was no object?
We went to Myrtle Beach a few weeks ago for 4 nights.  It was fun, but if money wasn't an option we probably would have went to Charleston.  I still wouldn't want to go far away.  We've been thinking about going to Charleston for our anniversary (June 5), but it is about 6 hours away and I don't know if I want to be that far away then.

  • How many weeks?  Fruit/veg [if you know]? 26 - lettuce

    How are you feeling?
My back/sides have started aching more.  I think yoga helps with it but I skipped this week because I was so tired (didn't sleep well) and I couldn't bring myself to get out of bed in time to make it to my 9:15 class.  I also think it's just normal and will continue as baby and I get bigger.

Any upcoming appointments/milestones/pregnancy updates to share?
Ultrasound (to check growth and placenta position) and GD test is Wednesday.  Looking forward to seeing Mr. Baby again -- this is the first time I've had an ultrasound that I wasn't super nervous beforehand, mostly because I can feel him moving all the time so I know he's alive.  Also, I'm down to double digits -- 97 days left, give or take, in my pregnancy!  Whoa!

    Thoughts/vents?
Finally registered for infant CPR and breastfeeding classes, so pre-baby education is taken care of (we were already registered for our childbirth class).  Now we just have to make some progress on the nursery or I am going to start freaking out that it will never get done... :-S

QOTW: Will you (or did you) take a babymoon or last trip before the baby arrives?  If yes, where will/did you go?  Where would you go if money was no object?
We have a week off coming up at the end of the month, and that's our last week off before the baby comes.  However, daycare is going to be such a huge blow to our budget that we are trying to conserve as much money as possible beforehand, and that means we can't afford to spend money on a real vacation.  Our tentative plan is to go to my dad's Maine house -- it won't be that nice there in late April/early May, but it will be a change of scenery.  However, that is dependent on us making progress on the nursery before then!  If we don't, we're staying home to work on that.

I'm with @Robinischo -- if money were no object -- and we didn't need to work on the nursery (I guess if money was no object, I'd pay someone to do it all), I think we'd go back to Charleston, SC.  We were there last spring and loved it there.  It would be warm that time of year and there's
    lots of great food there!

@gingerkid9989, have you checked out Baby Bargains or Lucie's List?  Both helped me make some sense of all the "stuff" we needed for the baby.

@hcorcoran, I'm glad you had such a great shower!  Love the pics.

@haleyusf, how did the beta and progesterone tests go?

@kountingsheep, I don't think I could handle an Arizona summer.  Your moms' group sounds great!

@Robinischo, so sorry about the fall but I am glad everything was fine!
