I can't burp. If I drink carbonated beverages (or now, pretty much every time I eat) I get this "bubbly," backed-up feeling in my windpipe. It makes me want to vomit and is extremely uncomfortable. The only way to relieve it is to stick my finger down my throat and essentially "vomit" the air up. It's so hard to find the privacy to do it without anyone hearing (and I need to be in a bathroom in case it makes me actually puke) that I end up being uncomfortable and miserable for hours at a time.
I can't burp either!! Never been able to - my throat makes the most ridiculous sounds these days (sounds like a frog croaking?) and gets all bubbly and I eventually just have all this air come up. Weirdest thing ever...I totally feel your pain!

OMG. THIS IS ME! I have never heard anyone else say this. I have probably burped 5 times in my whole life and sometimes the gas/backed up feeling is SO UNCOMFORTABLE.
My FFFC is that pregnancy is turning me in to a spoiled brat. I haven't had to pick up something that I've dropped in a long time. This past Wednesday, I set down my tray at dinner before church and dumped my sweet tea everywhere. Went to get a cloth, and a lady was already cleaning it up for me "because it's not comfortable for me to squat down." I dropped an Easter egg and it rolled away...I started shifting things around to get it and an old lady said, "Oh no honey! Let me get that!" and DH picks up everything for me (side note - pregnancy has apparently made my fingers stop working too, it's a little ridiculous). So yesterday I was leaving school, pulled my keys out of my purse, and promptly tossed them on the ground. I looked around like, who's going to get that for me? And was super embarrassed because I was the only person out there. So I deducted a pregnancy card from myself and picked them up!

futuremrsbrian I almost made a reference to the Borg specifically Seven of Nine earlier and then I thought you would be the only one who would have any idea what I was talking about. lol.
I love Seven of Nine! I'd love to cosplay her, and almost did once but then I decided to go for something a little more complicated (the construction process is my favorite part).
And I totally have a borg cube on my Christmas tree. It lights up.
I was super bummed that I was out of audible book credits until the 21st until all this Harry Potter talk started! Totally redownloading the series from my account to visit with my old friends.

I may or may not have told my DH that if i end up on bed rest i am going to watch the entire Star Trek Series.

I would love to be her for Halloween but wouldn't even know where to begin on the costume. I will have to tell my DH about the borg cube. He will love that!!
@helloblueeyes - the question is, which version? Or all of them? I'm a TNG fangirl myself, but I also enjoy Voyager. ToS is ok but cheesy, like watching the Adam West version of Batman. I actually really don't like DS9 or Enterprise.
Who doesn't love a good screening of Star Trek 4 though? "We must go back in time to rescue some whales so that they can save us from the aliens!" Hilariously epic.
DH got it for me a million Christmases ago, it's a prized possession!
BTW, my in laws got me the special edition of "The Tales of Beedle the Bard" and it came with a bunch of 5x7 illustrations of all of the drawings JK Rowling put in the book. I thought about framing these and putting them in Brom's Nursery!
You just gave me a Nerd-gism. LOL. This is really beautiful and awesome. What great in-laws to get such a creative gift. Brom will love it.

I have seen some but not all.
I've totally seen every Star Trek: The Next Generation, Star Trek: Voyager and Star Trek: Deep Space Nine episode and not just once.
New FFFC... I absolutely do not get it when people say they will have to see if the name they have picked out fits their baby when he/she is born. I am not pin pointing anyone specific with this, I have heard it for years. But, how can you decide if it fits when they are born? They don't come out with much of a personality. I wasn't sure about my son's name until it just grew on me to the point of "of course that is his name" at like 2 or 3 years old. By that time, it's not like I can change it. I feel like you pick the name you like and they will grow into it. They don't come out with a name stamped on them somewhere.

I drive my DH nuts because when i start a series i almost always have to finish it, and in the correct order.
I was over 120 posts behind here... Holy moley. I was trying to keep a mental list of things to respond to, but this is all I can remember:
- I have never read the HP books or seen the movies, but I recently started the audio books! I'm on book one and honestly I get distracted half the time bc the guy reading it has a british accent and I just want to listen to him talk and I forget to actually pay attention to the words!
- I have never pooped in front of DH, and he has never pooped in front of me, but I will stand outside the door and carry on convos with him when he is pooping. He always asks me if it can wait. Lame.
- we should add "do what you want" to the Bingo cards, for the super condescending, judgmental folks that like to tell us what not to do, and then when called out on it, they play the "do whatever you want!" card.
Speaking of names, my sister just had her baby, literally three hours ago. She had a girl and I'm having a girl. Anywho, no one will answer my question about what the baby's name is. I am beginning to fear she stole my baby name. If someone doesn't answer the damn question before 5:00, I'm driving straight to the hospital to straighten this out!!!

Oh hell no... that would cause a serious problem in my family... like a grudge I hold for 20 or so years problem.

Not sure how to explain it @zarkarella, but DH and I did this with our DD. We had a short list of 3 names that we had both agreed upon (and loved) but we waited until she was born to pick which one was going to be her name. Once she was born and we met her one of the names just felt more "right" than the other two so that is the one we chose for her. It was just a feeling of looking at her and saying "yup, that's her name".
We will be doing the same thing for our DS with a short list of 2-3 names picked out and then wait to see which one suits him once he's born.

Would it be immature to still name your daughter the same name, and then point out whenever anyone asks that your sister isn't creative (and/or is a b****) and decided to steal your name instead of thinking of her own?! ;-)

I feel the same lack of understanding for people who pre-name their children. I have met many people in my life who l don't think fit their name. Even just when first meeting them - he/she doesn't look like a "Bob" or whatever.
I also have good friends who pre-named their daughter. Then renamed her (with all the paperwork and hassle) a month later, because the first wasn't the right name for her.
I'm not naming the idea of a child. I'm naming a child. So, I want to look at that face before I pin a name to it. We have narrowed our choices down to 2 girl names and 2 boy names. And I believe, when I look at the child for the first time, I will lean more towards one name or the other. At this point, I like all the names equally, but I'm sure I will have a preference when I look at the kiddo.

It's just, when you meet them when they are born, how do you know they aren't going to look like a Bob when they are older?
I haven't done the random since the beginning- I like seeing how big it gets and think seeing 1K and 2K is amusing, though I wish it didn't keep only the estimated count.
I have seen the HP movies, but only read a little of the books- I wouldn't mind reading them to a child, but they didn't keep my attention.
Pooping is MY time. No on bugs me, I get my own quiet private time. MINE. I couldn't do it in front of anyone anyway. peeing on the other hand, only when DH is behind the shower curtain. IDK why.
If someone used my baby name, I'd use mine anyway. life's too short to worry about that stuff.
There are plenty of "degreed" people who are rather stupid and annoying. There are amazingly smart people without higher education. Flaunting papers about which one you are is INTENSELY annoying and would make me never want to talk to you.
Opinions don't need agreement, IDK why ppl can't just say theirs, debate a little and move on. My IL's are like that- you must agree with them 100% or you're a bad person or something. I don't talk to the F-ers any more.
I don't point out why I edit...It's usually because I didn't proof read well enough or my fingers were too fat.
I'd LOVE 2 eyes colors, that is so cool:)
FFFC: Since the seed was planted on pg 1 or 2...You can labor how ever you want and I respect you get a choice and support whateer ppl want to do, but I'm proud I choose the no drug method. I choose it to be as natural in life as possible. But I also wear it as a badge of honor that I don't use meds- because there is a lot more to go through with out them. Labor is hard, but there is no convincing me that with drugs it's far easier. Mine ended in a ECS, so I kind of feel I had to go through even more- and know in the end how wonderful the drugs did make me feel. Still don't want them this time, and feel like getting an epidural is taking an easier road.
Just out of curiousity OP, what happens when you Google & a random image of a half naked hottie comes up? There's generally no warning bells for that.
I realize ^this^ sounds very sarcastic & I'm honestly not trying to be. I'm just asking.
Your question doesn't sound sarcastic to me.
I find it distasteful, but I live in the world. I see these things everyday. I try in my own life to make a conscious effort not to be desensitized to these sorts of issues surrounding our visual culture and their possible implications.
P.S. Have been away from the computer for several hours and am responding to comments on page 4. I see the thread is up to page 9. I have not read ahead yet.

@jensavicci they are totes green ) my Father has one green eye, one blue. My brother got the blue, I got the green and my other sibs got my Mom's brown.
So I'm really curious if Brom will turn out with heterochromia
My SO has heterochromia, one brown, one green, but we call them his "mood eyes" because depending on his mood, the green can look so light, it's almost clear. People notice all the time, but when we first met, he tried so hard to get me to pay attention to it. I'm a bio teacher, and ended up explaining to him how it happens, totally non-impressed, while he was busy making eyes at me- literally.
