So I got a call asking if I could come in this afternoon.

We sas the PT, she said textbook left tortacollis and phalocepolies (sp=so wrong.) On the back left.

She said it was caught early which is great, but she believes he was born with it, because he is already showing signs of asymmatry?

He did not like the stretches and we have to go once a week for a while.

Here is a pic of my chipmonk doing the least hated stretch.

  • Aww. His little face!

    Hope the pt helps!
  • What a cutie! Same dx as DS, except DS was on the right. PT certainly helped him and the stretches got easier on him. I hope Jacob's progress is quick for both of you!

  • Good luck, @mamacrunch! I was actually just about to post something about torticollis and then saw this.  Both of our boys were diagnosed with torticollis,  so we've been working on stretches at home and have to start physical therapy soon. Only problem is that our insurance won't cover the physical therapy and the helmets if we need them.

I hope that things improve with the exercises...and what a cutie! :)

Im worried, she said Medicaid is notorious for my covering PT saying it is cosmetic.
I'LL dig some money out my ass before I let him become crooked neck for life.
plus she said if etc untreated
it can lead to scoliosis I really need to learn to spell.

Yep. They're saying it's cosmetic, so it's not going to be covered. But they need to go, especially since their flat spots are getting pretty bad no matter how much tummy time and keeping them off their backs we do. If they end up needing helmets, it's going to be about $5000 and that's not counting what it's going to be for physical therapy. Scary! :-\
