Bath Tub Sling

Talk to me about your bath tub usage. Are you still using the sling? I just assumed that the sling had a weight limit and that DD would be approaching it soon. I checked the manual and it doens't say a thing about weight/height limits for the sling. She doesn't sit on her own yet so if I were to take the sling out, she would be sitting on an incline in the tub part. Wondering what everyone else with the same type of tub is doing.

We still use the sling even though he is probably way to big. He is happy so I'm leaving it alone.

We never used a sling, just held him in place when he was little now he just chills in the water!  Not sure what tub you have but here are pics for reference!

  • We ditched the sling around 6 weeks. But now we rarely use the baby tub. I mostly sit in the tub, have DH bring him to me and bathe him there. It's way easier IMO.

  • Abandoned the sling a while ago as well, mostly so B could be in the warm water. She loves to kick and make a mess.

I've tried both the recline side and the more straight up sitting side- we have the blue first years tub.

Either way I hold one arm to keep her steady. My biggest issue is getting under her chin and the folds if her fat neck!
  • By your description, I think we have the same tub. I'm still using the sling, but I've been having this same thought the last week or two. A is tiny (only 13 lbs.) but long. Plus he's at that stage where he wants to use his legs to push off the foot of the tub so I'm afraid he'll flip himself out of the sling soon. I've been nervous about taking the sling out, but after reading that so many of you have, I think I'll bite the bullet!

  • Thanks everyone for your input! I'm going to ditch the sling her next bath. I'll just prop her up on the incline part and see how that goes. She's growing too fast!
