Last night, I changed my contact name on DH's phone to Holly the Dog. I then began sending him text that said, "Feed me, you fucker, rub my belly, and what's that fat dog doing downstairs?" I could hear him in the other room laughing.

No, I couldn't wait until today.

That is awesome! Gonna try to get my hands on DH's phone tonight.

Here are the dogs. Haley is the dark one, Holly is the light one.  Holly is dumber than a box of rocks. You can almost see her judging your every move. She's also the one who lived under our bed for the first 9 months DD was around. She would only come out after we put dd to bed for the night.

I have nothing to add, other than your dogs are frickin adorable.  Is Holly a mini schnauzer?

I told DH I was pregnant with #3 through text. He called one minute later, less than thrilled and I couldn't help but laugh so he figured it out very quickly.

I am not doing anything. A couple of years ago I told my mom I was pregnant on April Fool's Day. She thought I was joking. I really was pregnant with DD so it seemed extra funny to me.
My cousin announced a few years ago on April Fool's.  She wasn't joking - she just forgot that it was AFD that day.

    RE: the pregnant thing.

I don't think it's funny at all to joke that you are pregnant if you are not.

That being said, this is such a huge pet peeve of mine, that about 30 minutes ago, a sales rep we work with sent an email with "It's a Boy" in the subject line, and a money shot ultrasound as an attachment.  I didn't know she was even expecting, (havent seen her since Xmas) so I assumed she was playing a joke and started talking out loud about how gross I think that kind of a "joke" is.

Turns out she really is pregnant, and I am so glad my co-worker stopped me from writing her a ridiculously snarky email.

We brought DS1 down the baby's clothes to get ready for school, then kept pestering him to get dressed to leave for school. He kept saying they weren't his clothes and we told him to stop stalling and get ready for school. Then we explained April Fools and DS1 thought it was hilarious. The whole ride to school, I got to hear "Guess What? Chicken Butt" jokes.

In reply to the pregnancy thing. I hate when people joke about that, at all. That being said when we told our family that I was pregnant with DD it was on April 1. We didn't even realize. My inlaws were having a big family get together and we had DS tell everyone. It took a few times for them to believe us.

I left this sitting on DHs computer desk for him to find when he gets home from work today. I poured the nail polish onto wax paper a week ago and let it dry, then peeled it off. I also stuffed tissue paper into DS1s shoes this morning and convinced him that his feet grew overnight :)image
i'd rub a bit of vaseline on th edried paper to make it look more wet/realistic.

I forgot to do anything this morning, but I love April Fool's Day! The best prank I've ever pulled was on my ex bf. He had just gotten into his top choice law school. I took a copy of the letterhead from the acceptance letter, and wrote a new letter saying that it had been a mistake, the admissions office had mixed up and he actually hadn't gotten in. I included a very sincere apology and an invitation to re-apply the following year. I only let him believe it for a few minutes- not enough for him to get genuinely upset- but it was glorious (and not related to the reason we broke up, I swear. He thought it was hilarious too).

Anyhow, I will have to think of something funny to do tonight.

Meh. I didn't joke about it with anyone else but him so I'm not worried about it.
