We have a son named Abram and are due with number 2 in November. So far we have a pretty long list, but nothing is standing out. I realize we have a lot of time but Daddy will be away for most of the pregnancy and possibly the birth, so we are trying to rush the process a bit. With my son we just knew what his name would be by 20 weeks, this time around it's a little more tough. My husband is convinced it's a boy but we don't know the sex yet, so we need both boy and girl suggestions. We don't like anything very common or trendy. So far my husband's favorites are Bartholomew and Iris, and mine are Alan and Calla. Give it your best shot. I would be very grateful for any and all suggestions!
I like Ezekiel but I'm afriad it might be too out there for some people to handle? Also, Miriam is really pretty but it's a little matchy with Abram. (-am)
From your list, I love Thaddeus, Ulysses, and Seamus for a boy, and Gwendolyn, Beatrix and Iris for a girl. I really, really dislike Alan, and Calla is fine, but not as awesome as a lot of your other options. Other ideas:
Boys:
Nicodemus
Theodorus
Raphael
Myron
Miltiades (one of my personal heroes)
Sebastian
Harold
Joran
Girls:
Theodora
Anwen
Eilwen
Petra
Mira
Dorothea
Valentina
Rosalind
Matilda
Tabitha
Bianca
I think I prefer a little more simplicity. These names are beautiful but a bit much, if that makes any sense. My husband likes Sebastian but I don't care for it.
I really like Ralph but it sounds terrible with our last name. Orrin and Galen are really cool too. My husband also likes Alice but I associate it with Workaholics.

I can understand your feelings about Ezekiel although it was ranked 198 last year so it's a bit more mainstream than I realized. Do you like Zeke? It's generally a nn people either love or hate but it is an option.
I LOVE Zeke. I like it better than Ezekiel, but my husband wasn't big on just Zeke. He says it rhymes with geek and makes him think of an alien.
I like Donovan. Other suggestions Stellan and Orson (simply because I am crushing on them right now). I am no help with girl names at all. I only had one that I liked in the end and that was Jane.
Oh, you know I could go on for days! Whether I could go on productively is another question, but sure, I'll throw out some more (hopefully none of these are repeats...)
Girls:
Aura
Maris
Clio (muse of history)
Livia
Willa
Chloe
Marie (I know it's everyone's mn (including my DD) but it is seldom used as a fn and it is so pretty!)
Philippa
Leda
Boys:
Linus
Milo
Simon
Doran
Ennis
David
Ian
Joshua
Ross
Christopher
Philip
Actually, a lot of those we cannot use. Cleo would be cute but it's a bit close to my sister inlaw Chloe.
Re: Nothing sticks...
Loving the suggestions of Iris, Hazel, and Tabitha.
Other suggestions....
Girls: Rosalie, Irene, Delilah, Esther
Boys: Ezra, Tobias, Asa, Gabriel, Jeremiah, Malachi
