7 BCPs down, 13 to go! I'm driving myself crazy reading about what I should and shouldn't be eating, drinking, or doing. Is my diet okay? Are these vitamins enough? Part of me just wants to take a break from obsessing while I'm on the pills, but I'm afraid that if this fails again I'll feel like I could have done more. It's all so confusing. 

QOTD: I think I would go to an island and just chill on the beach for five days. On our list is Roatan in Honduras. We also want to go to Costa Rica because I can do the beach thing AND see new volcanoes.

On Day 5 of the BCP and spotting, is this normal? I'm guessing so since I started taking it on CD2 and never fully "finished" out my period. I have my baseline appt. next Wed, no other news.

QOTD: I would go to the Excellence Playa Mujeres all inclusive with my husband. It's our favorite resort.

Tonight is my last BCP! It's the best day ever. I feel much like I felt for IVF #1... Inching up to the first drop on a roller coaster. All my meds arrived late last week so I'm ready to go.

QOTD: It would take more than $2k but I pick the Four Seasons Maui.

My first monitoring appointment since starting follistim is tomorrow.  I'm extra anxious to go b/c I was an idiot over the weekend and forgot my Lupron at home when I was traveling over the weekend.  The nurse said it should be fine, but we'll see if my ovaries went all crazy on me tomorrow.

QOTD: Probably Spain, although we would end up paying more than $2K.  If we're staying within budget, then Puerto Rico - we haven't been back since our wedding.

QOTD: Mexico. I love the Caribbean side of Mexico. Tulum sounds nice.

Woot Woot! Just picked up my meds from R.MA NJ Baskin Ridge office for the Nex.Gen. study. I stop bcp on Wed first monitor appointment Sunday! I will post a pic in a bit!

QOTW: Actually booked a trip to Mexico for May 3-12 before knowing we needed IVF. They were able to work around it though, so we are still going! $2100 total with air all inclusive for both my husband and I for 9 nights. So my answer is Mexico nice and cheap!!!

@Milagros315 just saw Roatan getting talked about this past weekend on a travel channel. Beautiful but you might need more than $2000 lol. @ltlavac I have been spotting for a month and RE said that was normal but what a PITA!!

Nothing much going on. Went off bcp's other day thank goodness. Still on Lupron but guess I will start my estrogen next week. Yay fun

QOTW: My first thought was to go back to Serbia to visit my relatives I didn't get to see last summer in Bosnia All of them are still living there. Miss them so much!! Haven't seen those ones in 27 years...

@BeckyP005 - It's actually not that expensive if you're flexible! H has been there a few times and they stayed at the nice resorts and did the diving packages and that does cost a lot. I'm afraid of diving but not afraid of "rustic" lodging so we'd save some money there!

Oh ok @Miligros315! Thats cool! They were showing a private island but for life of me now can't remember if it was one of those wealthy travel shows or reg. Haha. It looked so gorgeous and the water so clear!

Yesterday was my last day for BCP, this Thursday is my baseline appointment. It is all becoming so real and I can't wait to get started, I feel like I'm going into battle hahaha! 

QOTW: For $2K I would have no idea where to go, I definitely want to go to Ireland. Not sure if I could though because there are 3 of us. My brother passed away last year in February and I took legal guardianship of my niece so now she's our "daughter" so $2,000 for 3 people isn't much especially with her, she's 13 years old and costs a fortune! Love her though, even though she drives me bonkers sometimes But definitely would love to go to Ireland!

Had my first checkup and blood work for my lining I'm already at a 6.6 they said they like to see anything over a 7 so I'm almost there! Go back into RMA this Thursday for more blood work and u/s if all is well we will start PIO and then have our transfer as soon as 4/10! EEEEK.... it's really real now and I'm kind of freaking out!

If I had $5000 and could go anywhere right now I'd probably go back to St. John. It was the most relaxing vacay I've ever had not to mention the most beautiful beaches I've ever seen (I go in the end October though before the season starts it's nice and quiet!)

I’m a few days into stims and had blood drawn this morning. Hopefully my levels look good! I haven’t had any side effects (maybe a dull ache in my ovaries), but the injection burns (not due to the alcohol swab) and I will be happy when this part is over. I’ve been going to acupuncture once a week and I think it’s definitely helped with my stress level.

QOTW: I’m not sure if 2K would be enough, but I would LOVE to go to Iceland. I think it’s one of the most geologically interesting locations in the world (and one of the most beautiful).

Hey y'all!  Would love to join the group.  Today is Day 5 of stims for me... had my first monitoring appointment this morning and all is going well.  Counting more follicles than I've started with in previous cycles... 14 on each ovary so I'm anxious to see what we end up with!  As of right now, ER looks like it'll be Monday or Tuesday of next week.  Really love my new RE more and more each time I'm there.  I'm hoping this extra level of comfort will help our odds.  

QOTD: I'd jump at the chance to go somewhere tropical and relaxing with hubby!  That's exactly what I'll imagine when I'm being knocked out for ER.  Haha.

Seems like everyone is just chugging right along! FX that this month is just as wonderful as March seemed to be!

 

Today was my last monitoring appointment! I TRIGGER TONIGHT!! ER is WED morning! Holy moly! That came fast. My E2 is high again, but not as bad as last time. It's 4500 and something. I don't remember the exact number and the paper I wrote it down on is all the way in the other room and I'm too tired to get it! So, they have me taking Cabergoline (sp??) to block something or other to help me be less at-risk for OHSS. I had to take it last time, too. Today they counted 13 follicles measuring 18 or more and a few more that might catch up by Wed. So, it is my honor to be the first ER to get this show on the road for all of us! I'll try my best to have a great ER and a wonderful outcome to bring us all a little hope for this month!! Feeling the pressure...

QOTD: I don't wanna go anywhere! True story. I think with all of the 1 1/2 hour trips this week, I'm over traveling! But, if I had to, I'd probably go to Disney again. It really is the happiest place on earth!

Hello from dreary, rainy Boston!! I am anxiously waiting for AF anytime now and eating everything in my kitchen. I then start Vivelle patches and estradiol for 2 weeks, then 6 days of crinone, and off I go to FET #1. I am so worried and anxious for my lil' frostie. I have an XY and I truly hope he survives the thaw.

If I had $2000 and five days to kill Id head somewhere dry n' sunny. Perhaps Aruba or Bali!!!

We are still steaming ahead toward FET 4/10.  So @musicianlala26 we may be transfer buddies!  I go back in tomorrow for lining check and bloodwork.  Possible med adjustment, though they said all was looking good on Thursday and we're already at 7mm.

With that kind of time, I'd love to go someplace warm, but I'm afraid my white skin and thanks-to-infertility chub would frighten people.  Myself most of all.  So maybe someplace that lends itself to more clothes, like England or Ireland.  Not sure if I could get there for 2k, but it would be great!

Hi Fellow Bunnies.  No updates here - still waiting for AF to arrive, and then will begin the u/s monitoring, and b/w.

It seems weird to me that I won't be doing any stim/prep in advance of the ET other than a trigger shot (Ovidrel) once my follicles are big enough (natural FET).  But hoping it means my body won't be in overdrive and this will work.  

Still agonizing over whether to transfer 1 or 2 (we have 6 frosties altogether).  Due to my age, RE is ok with transferring 2 if we want.  On one hand want to maximize our chances of getting pregnant, on the other hand, if both were to stick, while we do ultimately want 2 - we are worried about the significantly higher risk of multiples (higher risk preg, greater chance of birth defects, worse increased risk of losing one or both)...  Anyone else had to make this decision?  Pros/Cons to transferring 2 vs 1?  DH is leaning towards 1 but will be ok with 2 if that is what I want. 

QOTD: hmm - I would have to say Caneel Bay in St. John (USVI) but it would take more than 2k with airfare, hotel, meals, etc.

I'm going in for Lining Check #3 tomorrow. I expected this part of the process to be slow... I've always been on the borderline/thin side, so I'm not expecting anything to be different now. My lining only grew 1mm between the first and second lining check, so they switched me from oral to vaginal Estrace. 

QOTD: My husband just got home from a school trip at Disney. I'm so incredibly jealous, so I'd probably go there. Or I'd find a place with a kickass race and go explore the area and run the race.

Yes, I'll be on this protocol as well. It's my first time with this one so I don't really know what to expect. I'm happy that it involves fewer injections than last cycle through!

I had my first baseline and blood work since starting follistim and menopur on Friday. I dont know what the measurements were but they said everything was right on track, no change to meds and then I go back on Wednesday. I am kind of getting used to the injections but I will NOT miss them when they are gone!

Since I woke up to snow this morning, I would take anyway warm and sunny right now!!!

Not a whole lot going on here. I have about a week left of bcps. Crappy note for today: Care/mark quoted me one price, and charged me another. Must wait for my meds tomorrow to check the receipt. I don't know why I was charged almost $500 more than what I was told on the phone initially. Apart from that I don't know how to fix it, or if it was the first girl's mistake, idk. But I actually cried and I feel the weight of the world on my shoulders right now.

Qotw:  I would totally go to Puerto Rico. I haven't been in a little while, but I love it so much there, my batteries are always recharged when I go.

Hi Ladies!  All is pretty quiet for me.  I'm on day 5 of stims.  I had monitoring this morning and things are moving along, but it's still early enough that I can't project when ER will be.  Today was the last day of Saizen, and as far as I can tell, I did not have any side effects from it other than some joint pain and I'm not totally convinced that it wasn't all in my head.  I go back for monitoring on Wednesday. 

QOTD:  I think I'd go to a spa in Arizona or New Mexico.  I've been saying for months that I need a vacation, so I'm curious to se

Question for ladies who did an agonist (lupron) protocol and then did an antagonist protocol?  Were your doses of stims different?  I am on a much lower doses of Follistim on the antagonist protocol and not sure why.  Any experiences to share?

@shelbeans82‌, I did the antagonist protocol for IVF #1 and #2, then agonist for #3. The doses of Follistim got higher for each cycle, and I did Menopur for the antagonist and low dose HCG for the agonist. Feel free to PM me anytime if you want to chat about it.

I think I am, but what is an antagonist protocol. I'm a total newbie to IVF, starting injects on 4/12 if all goes as planned.

Hello everyone I had another failed cycle in Feb and we're about to start cycle 3 FET next week, with a transfer late April. I took a break from this site after the Feb cycle to heal from the chemical preg news. I have been feeling very defeated by all off this and am really scared to find out what this cycle will bring I pray 3rd times the charm but I'm doubting now that it will ever work. I know many ppl do this several times before it works but the journey is tough. Sorry to be such a downer but I know that you ladies are really the only ppl in my life that really understand what being an IF woman is like :-) so fingers crossed and prayers for all that this will be our month!

QOTD I would take my husband to Charleston sc I know it's nothing exotic but my dh and I have been talking about vaca there and I am very much in need of a get away but as many of you know paying for ivf takes all vacation and spending money so it's probably going to be a little while :-)
