snow day!

snow and blowing so we received the call at 5:30 am. I had just gotten up to pee, so nbd. DH got up at 3:30 to head to work. normal 1.5 hour commute, now in a blizzard. I haven't heard he made it yet. I hope he stays there tonight! At least we don't have to leave the house.

there is always one last storm. our snow is usually a powdery light stuff, but spring storms hold moisture which is when we worry about losing power most. of course there is nothing to do but stay inside and bundle up. houses are well insulated up here though so they stay warm.

Yuck. We are still getting rain thank goodness. Of course it will make lovely ice when the temp drops. I hope your dh calls soon and is safe!

Finally!!  After I called out to the plant and got the run around from 2 different guys as to what # to call to get him.  They had him call home.  He said he was waiting to be sure we were up.   :-S  I have been awake since 5:30 am!  Oh wells, I guess it is a nice sediment to wait....

Batteries are replaced in our flashlights and I have located the candles.

Glad you heard from your H!  We had almost all of our snow melted and then last night it snowed and "iced" and the roads were icky this morning.  Gotta love how this spring is going so far

@caybeh, closed for no school not due to weather though, right?  We are taking Easter Monday as a make up day.  I tagged you in my ND/MN post yesterday but spelled your SN wrong.    Forgive me!  We don't have a ton of accumulation but the wind is brutal.  I replaced batteries in flashlights and located the candles just in case!

@arnegard...nope closed due to weather. They cancelled last night. I'm shocked that they called the night before. I saw in the paper that the schools plan to take Easter Monday too. From the reports, it sounds like by this afternoon, it's going to be nasty out there. We live on the outskirts of town, and it gets pretty icky out here in our development. 

The wind is pretty strong right now, so I can only imagine what it will be like when the snow starts to fall.

Umm...I don't think we have any candles. I should have bought some. I've lived in ND all my life and I should know better! Although, most of our power lines are buried, so hopefully we'll be ok.....hopefully....

@andrewsgal Last winter, we in ND had a blizzard every Monday in April. I think we had most of our snow total for the winter in April. Really hoping this winter isn't the same.
