If you've already bought a maternity swimsuit, where did you buy it and what was it a reasonable price and quality? First time buyer here; I've been looking online at Asos and Old Navy, but am wary since I've never bought one before.
The choices at the maternity stores in town are awful, and the prices ridiculous.
I plan on wearing a bikini if I'm just out at the beach with friends, but want to start swimming at the local Y and don't think a bikini would be appropriate (especially if I take aquasize classes heheh)
Kohls by me has a small maternity section, but it had maybe 4 different swimsuits all for $40. In my experience, things often ring up cheaper than marked there. I do not like horizontal stripes on me though and they all had different patterns of that type of design, so I didn't get one. I'm holding off with my Destination Maternity $50 off $125 good next weekend. Hoping to get a swimsuit and a few more tops and I should be pretty well set.
I ordered one online from Kohl's it ended up being on sale for $32. I haven't got it yet so I can't comment on quality but it's a brand by Motherhood Maternity so I'm sure it'll be just fine!

I got a tankini top at Target and bottoms as well, I think total it was close to $50 for the top and bottom. Not sure how appropriate it woudl be for an actual swimming/water aerobics class, especially if you are busty.
I got mine at Kohls and it was an expensive swimsuit for me (since I normally buy them at walmart/target) but compared to some other places I think it was very reasonable. I bought a tankini ($29) with a skirt bottom ($32). I really like it and the top is super long which will ensure that the whole belly is covered even by 9months

I actually got two tankinis via zulily. Each was originally priced at $70 but I got them for $26.99 each. I don't think they have any for sale there currently, but their stock changes daily. During my sale there was a nice mix of 1 and 2 piece suits. Also, some of the other ladies here commented that they had a limited size selection, especially with the larger sizes. Good luck finding something you like...there are affordable swimsuits out there!
I got one from motherhood. It's a pea in the pod suit that was originally $100 marked down to $40. I am still on the hunt for one more bc I'm a huge beach bum. I will prob check back there and at target.
I bought a Target brand tankini swimsuit secondhand during my last pregnancy and it was very nice. Worked well through the end of my pregnancy (my daughter was born in August).
Target. Last time I was due in April and I just did a bikini with a tank top over it. But now I have a toddler who's very handsy and active to chase and help at the pool and beach. One piece it is! Simple and black
I bought a maternity bikini from Seraphine online. Got it on sale for $50. Most expensive swimsuit I've ever bought. It seems pretty comfy though and has good coverage (as opposed to my other ones). I figure if I try to do laps I'll probably wear a tank top over. I did that b/c I couldn't find a maternity 2 piece that I liked. I'm just not a fan of the maternity tankini styles that I saw.
Zulily! But you kind of have to stalk because sizes run out fast. AND then you have to wait forever for it to arrive, but its the only price point I can handle that is also really cute!
I purchased a plus size basic suit from Lands End last week and used it for the first time today to swim laps. It's a really nice suit, though I can't see it lasting me through the summer.
I second (3rd, 4th, 5th?) Zulily. First time buyer here as well, but if I can get a $75 suit for $30, I'm going for it. Will probably buy a tankini since I have no idea how big the belly is going to get, but may get a one piece too, but I generally dislike those as they always fall off my shoulders.
I bought 2 yesterday. Both from Motherhood. One came originally from Pea In The Pod, so it was a good find. One is a tankini top, the other is a one piece.

I have 2 - both from Old Navy. I have a tankini and a one piece. They were under $30 and this will be my 3rd pregnancy using them. They have held up very well.
@theresakraf I went to Ross once to look for tops and they only had like 3 different maternity tops in a small. No swimsuits. I live in the Chicagoland area, so I would expect them to have a bigger selection than your typical Ross store. I won't be back.
I really want a bikini, which don't seem to be as plentiful as one-pieces. I have always wanted to be one of those girls where old ladies are horrified that a bump is on display at the beach!
Bathing suits are back on Zulily today if you are still looking (I don't know what their selection is, I just went on to check an order I had already placed and saw more on their intro screen)
My tankini from Old Navy arrived a few days ago. I haven't tried it on yet, but it looks really good. The fabric is thicker than I expected, and the top is quite long so I don't think I'll be hanging out of it at any point. I got the halter tankini so it might be pretty busty, but whatever lol.
They have 30% off sales pretty often so you can catch a decent deal.
