I grew up in New Orleans, but the Darby's I knew I met in college in Mississippi -- they were from either Mississippi or Alabama.

The only Darby I've ever heard of is Jay's daughter on Hung. So I guess that would make me think girl. But I agree it has a more masculine sound. I've lived everywhere but the west coast and the south, so I'm not sure I can neatly fall into a regional catagory.

I think it's kind of unisex, but I've always associated it with a girl. I've only heard of one Darby before and it was a girl. We really like the name and are considering for DD2.

I knew a girl with this name but before I met her and had just heard that "Darby is coming" I assumed it was a boy. I still would if I heard the name. I am in Eastern Canada.
