It's a little too... "cool" for me. But it's not bad at all, and cool might be totally what you're going for. It reminds me of a teen skateboarder with a Bieber haircut. My 19 year old brother has a good friend called Zeb (full name Zebulon though no one calls him that).
I think it sounds like a nn. My husband's name is Isaiah and people started calling him Zeb when he was growing up and it stuck. Although it's not a traditional nn for Isaiah, it has never seemed odd.

Zeb. Not my style (would also formally use Zebadiah if I did choose the name). This being said, I could get behind the letter Z in Common Wealth English though... Zed. over Z.
I know a little boy named Zeb Ryl.and (periods added in the mn by me for search purposes). Honestly, I hate it all around. I so think Zeb makes a better nn than formal name though.
