Plugged duct - another question

How can you tell when it's better?  How long do I have to do the heating pad, massage in a hot shower, pump/nurse frequently on that side, etc?  It's much less painful this morning than it was yesterday but it's still very sore and maybe feels a little hard still when I squeeze..

Re: Plugged duct - another question

  • If it's still hard a little and sore, it's still in there. It will feel normal when it's gone-not sore, not hard. At least in my experience.

  • When the lump is gone it is better, however I had tenderness in that spot from the swelling and massage for a few days later, but that felt more like muscle soreness versus clogged duct pain.

This. For me once it was cleared it would feel normal to the touch, yet still tender (like a bruise).
