I will come back and post the full story when we are a little more recovered, but just wanted to post the stats.

Asher James was born at 1:06 this afternoon. 6 lbs, 11 oz. 20 1/2" long. Vaginal delivery with a small amount for vacuum suction. Asher is a a very content little guy and I am hanging in there. Here is one pic.

@Laura8388‌ can you please link in the announcement?

Update: the very long version
Well on Friday 3/21 at my 40 week appointment I posted that both OB and my MFM were worried about continued fluid levels dropping, so they both recommended that I go in Friday at noon for induction. I was 39+5.

This gave me 2 hours to prepare so I got the last of my things together, called MH to have him meet me and grabbed a quick burger and truffle fries for lunch. Then headed to the hospital.

I was started on pit at a very low dosage as I was already at a 2 cm dialation. Within about 3 hours they saw a decel in Asher's heart rate so we took a 30 minute break from the pit. They again started me on pit after he recovered and they determined he was probably just sleeping.

Then about 7 pm my OB stopped by and ordered that we discontinue pit and start cervidel as my cervix was not ready. They let me eat and by the time we started the cervidel it was between midnight and 2 am.

Fast forward and my contractions started to feel very different. They went from manageable every 3-4 minutes to pretty isolated in my back and painful every 5-10 minutes.

At approx 8:30ish am my water broke on its own. The nurse said that she also thought my fluid levels had been pretty low due to the small amount of fluid when my water broke. At that time they checked me and I was at 5 cm.

By about 11:30 am I was 8 cm and really struggling to breathe trough the contractions so I got the epi. It was such a relief and even though I wasn't sure that I wanted one going in, I think it made my labor more enjoyable in that I can remember most of it.

By 12:00 I was ready to push. Asher really only tolerated it when I was on my left side, so we used that position until about 12:45 when he really started to have major heart rate decels. My OB explained that they were going to try a vacuum and she was going to call in the NICU team. She also said that if that didn't work we would be doing an emergency c-section.

Well I got a bit upset as anyone would but the nurse really focused me for the next 2 sets of pushing an with her help, a little vacuum work and a small episiotomy Asher was born at 1:06.

His cord was around his neck and he didn't cry for a minute, but after that initial scare he bounced right back and was given the all ok by the team.

I am very happy that I listened to my OB and did the induction on Friday since it was clear he needed to be delivered. I had originally asked her about postponing till Monday but she seemed pretty confident to do it right away.

Another fun fact. Going in MH and I had 2 names. Asher James and Kai Alexander. We had decided to wait until we saw him. Well all throughout labor my 2 excellent nurses kept calling him "happy baby" and Asher means happy in Hebrew. Kai is Hawaiian for ocean and Alexander is Great, so Kai Alexander means great ocean, which didn't really fit given my low fluid situation. So without even knowing it the nurses pointed us to the right fit for Asher.

We are both doing ok now. I have a 2nod degree tear and I am starting to feel it today. Asher was doing real well on the breast but over the last 6 hours has gotten lazy so we may pump in the meantime to get him some nutrition.

Last (after that great novel) I just wanted to thank all you M14 ladies for a million questions answered, a ton of laughs, and overall making ky pregnancy more tolerable. I look forward to keeping up with you.
