I am planning for a required flight across country (CA to VA) which is over 5 hours (non-stop). Initially I thought a non-stop flight would be ideal but with a five month old (I can't believe he'll be that old!) I am beginning to wonder if it would actually be better for DS to have one stop which would provide a change of scenery and if he's had a meltdown, it might be more likely to only occur on one of the legs, providing less impact on others than he would on one 5+ hour flight...
Also - we just flew to/from CA and IL and DS slept most of the time but when he was awake, he was fussy. That said, he did not seem to be uncomfortable with the change of pressure on his ears, just his usual fuss.
Thanks!
Re: Travel with 5 mo, non-stop or two flights?
I guess this could be different depending on your child, but I always go non-stop whenever possible. The delays in between flights always seemed to make things worse for my boys, and we only had to deal with loading/unloading once with all of our stuff.
