MOTN confessions

Dd has been sleeping in the bouncer since we came home.

I've been trying to have her sleep in the bassinet for at least one stretch at night.

She woke fussing at three and I got up and scooped her out of the bouncer. I'd been nursing a few minutes when I realized that the last time I remember putting her down, it was in the bassinet. Apparently i moved her at some point between that feeding and 3am WITHOUT ANY MEMORY OF IT.

Wth is wrong with me? I don't have a clue how she moved.

Any other confessions?

  • LO has been wearing the same sleeper for 36 hours now. But she hasn't pooped in it, so it's not that bad, right? Sigh... today is definitely laundry day.

  • My LO has dark hair on his ears. Really, Really hoping it goes away SOON!

Mine does too. I just like to say she gets it from her daddy :)
  • @utpony although I saw it and almost died last night, I'm still laughing at the drunk hobbit this morning.

Lol mine too! The littlest furball has hair everywhere!

I lost a binky only to realize it was in between my boobs. In the nursing tank I wore for 3 days straight. I showered yesterday after that discovery.

Done the Binky thing, while yelling at DH about how he always loses it. At the time it was our only one...we own 5 now.
FFWC: I have probably 20+ binkys. The NICU gave us about 18.

  • Each night, I count down the minutes until DH leaves for work so that I have the whole bed. Worst wife award.
Last night my boyfriend fell asleep on the couch. Usually I'd wake him up, but I wanted the bed to myself so I left him there.

Yesterday when he woke up at 6am I had LO on my lap and boob out. I couldn't remember if I was about to feed LO or had just finished. Not the first time.

Mine too! It's as long and dark as the hair on the top of her head. I think it's kind of funny.
Mine has long, dark hair on his ears and back....and I really, really like it. I know, I'm weird. It's just that it makes him look like the cutest little monkey. I always sing "I'm bringing hairy back" to the tune of Timerlake's "I'm bringing sexy back."

My confession: I almost never burp LO in the middle of the night after a feeding. There are no bottles, so I just roll the dice ....

Whew! Glad I'm not the only one!

I don't either! Well...I do halfway through...but never when she's done and basically sound asleep.
  • Delayed MOTNC, because the nickname thread made me think of it: Sometimes in the MOTN, I have to scramble around in my brain to remember LO's name. Nights are hard! #MOTY

Yep,and I always think of him as a girl in the MOTN, since my first was a girl.

@Bookshelves‌ I called DD my name... more than once... during the day. :-/ goodbye, sanity.

  • We were going to name LO Parker, had our minds all made up for months, and a week before he was born I changed my mind and decided I hate it, so we named him Reece. Half the time in my head I call him Parker anyway. The other 1/4 I think of him with someone else's name, like a cousins. I almost never think of him or call him Reece. Because remembering the name of your only child is hard.

When they first got home, I kept wanting to call one of them Starbuck (our dogs name) and could not for the life of me remember their names. Awful.

  • We sleep with tee shirts over our faces (in lieu of eye masks) because our neighbour has a porch light even our black out curtains can't beat. We keep them under our pillows during the day. Yesterday I couldn't grab a burp cloth in time so I used DH's eye-shirt to wipe up puke and catch my endless stream of breast milk. I guess it got lost within the covers. When we went to bed, the lights were out when he asked where his eye shirt was, then he said "oh, found it!" I just mentally shrugged and rolled over.

    dying!! =))

  • Can these be non baby related? Lol

This morning DH had a follow-up appointment with his surgeon to get his staples removed, he had a hernia repair a week ago. I woke him up early so he would make it there by 8, its on the other side of town. He gets there and then calls me to make sure i had the right time, because no one is there and the office is closed. I look on the paper I wrote it down on, it's at 2:30 in the afternoon. Totally lied and told him they had told me 8 so I don't know what happened (since I was the one that made the appointment for him). I'm gonna blame lack of sleep and being crazy busy this week for that brain fart, sorry DH!

This actually happened to me at my ob follow up. I got there and the receptionist couldn't find my name because I came on the completely wrong date. I checked my calendar and I wrote down the right date, but the whole week I was certain it was the other date and felt so stupid when I got there.

So, I feel ya! Sleep deprivation is fun.
