Kidspeak

I know we have posts like this fairly often, but I always find it hilarious and there are always new ones. What cute/funny things have your LOs said recently?

Here's mine: DS1 likes to box with my brother. He was sitting on his lap, hitting his palms and saying "Jab, jab, cross! Jab, jab, cross! Apricot!"

I wasn't sure if I should specify or if it added to the effect to have to think about it. Lol.

  • DD1 always refers to last night as "yesternight".  My DH finds it so endearing and hopes that she never stops saying it.
    DD #1 - 01.08
    DD #2 - 03.13
  • DS can't say DD's name so he just calls her big girl.

He also likes to growl at me, clench his fists and say " I'm Batman."

  • I have a cold and whenever I blow my nose DS says "it's a kazoo!!"  He has actually done this for well over a year now but it's what came into my mind lol.

  • DD1 says "babysuit" for bathing suit.
  • DD2 loves building towers with blocks and knocking them down. When she knocks them down, I say, "Kaboom!" She started copying me, but says, "Caboose!"

She also says, "I want to pick you up," when she wants me to pick her up. And she says, "Clean upping," instead of "cleaning up." :)

  • A few days ago we went to a bday party for my seventeen year old cousin. Elk sang "Happy Birth Cake to you!"
Until recently he called the cats in our house something that sounded like "Mopf". No clue why. He would wander around looking for his kitty calling "Mopf? Mopf?"

To Jack, tomatoes are "potatoes" and potatoes are "tomatoes."
I've tried correcting it.  I've given up.
@DC2London my son does that too. He calls tomatoes "potatoes" and when I say "it's tomatoes, t-t-t-t-tomatoes" he says "t-t-t-t-potatoes." lol

  • Scarlett was feeling my SMIL's acrylic nails, and SMIL asked if she liked them because they felt smooth. Scarlett stared at them dreamily and said "Moose..." Apparently smooth is a tough one for her. Now whenever I shave my legs, I'll sit next to my H, petting my legs and saying "moose..."
  • C loves dogs, and calls them Woof-woofs...except she has trouble with her W's, so it comes out foof-foofs.  She's always asking where they are, so it's this sweet little "Foof-foofs?".  Adore it.
