When to have your shower?

My MIL wants to put together my shower and is already asking for a date.  I understand her point as we have family from out of town and working in the military that need to plan far in advance.  So my question is what do you think is a good time to do it, like how many weeks along?  I was thinking about the 30 week mark.  Thoughts?

I think any time in 3rd tri is fine, up to maybe 35-36 weeks.  Mine was at 30 weeks.

Mine were during my 6th and 7th month, so I think that something like 30-32 weeks is perfect.

Just had mine at 30weeks. Felt like really great timing- I still have some of the second trimester energy, I have a pretty cute bump, and minimal physical aches and pains (although I am on bed rest so I had to be seated for the entire shower). I wouldn't have wanted to go much earlier though- everyone asks how much longer you have to go, and it'd feel awkward to say 3 months. It felt a little strange to say 2 more months (technically 2.5 until 40w for me, but my docs don't actually expect me to make it to 38- we are just hoping I make it to 36)

Planned my cousins shower for when she was 33 weeks pregnant. She ended up having the baby about 1.5weeks later. I'm hoping when I get pregnant my shower will be planned for between 30-34 weeks just incase I go early.
