I have always been curious. (which is probably weird) Do you have to shave/wax/etc your bikini line? I hate bathing suit season for this reason.

I got my bikini and arm pits lasered about 10 years ago. So I get the occasional stray hair I need to shave but usually good to go.

I have thought about doing that. Was it very painful?

  • I just posted I wear a skirt because I'm too lazy to maintain my bikini line. It's also freaking itchy. DH has said I look like a 70s porn star. Meh, whatevs.

Tell me more please. Not having to shave sounds like heaven.
  • I hate body hair, so I used to do a full shave down there. I just started getting it waxed before I had the baby, and I need to go for a new wax before I get cleared for happy fun time.
  • I wear swim skirts! :)

I do take a buzzer and keep it under control, but I don't use a razor. I did it once newly married, and ick I didn't like it. So incredibly itchy when it grew back.

  • I just shave bikini line and trim the rest. I hate waxing! Total torture to me
  • I get waxed. Easy peasy!!

I have dark hair and fair to olive skin so I was a "good" candidate. If you have blonde I think it takes more sessions. So I had to do four sessions over a period of three months. It is painful but you can do a numbing cream which helps a lot. Armpits were not painful - just felt like being pinched. Bikini line was grit my teeth and pretty damn painful but not having to shave and deal with red razor bumps when my hair was growing back in is awesome. It's been close to ten years and I do get occasional stray hairs that I either tweeze or shave off.

Huh. I may have to look into this. I guess I just always assumed that dark hair would be more difficult to get rid of...I have the dark hair/light skin combo too.....interesting!

  • Yes, I have to and don't enjoy it.  I wish I wasn't so dang hairy and have dark hair. It's pretty obvious.

  • Yes because I am Italian and have tons of super dark hair. I do year round though--not just with bikini season.

I'm with KC. I shave year round.  Although the last few months it's been more like "I randomly wave a razor in the general direction of my cooch and hope for the best".

Yeah, well, you have the excuse of not being able to see said cooch.
  • I'm SS because I also got mine lasered. I only got five sessions in before I got pregnant, though, so I still do a quick swipe to get the strays that are still remaining. It is pretty painful, the lady who did mine said she found it to be similar to getting a tattoo. The good thing is that the session doesn't take too long, so you just grit your teeth and bear it.

If you have fair skin and dark hair you're a perfect candidate.
