X/P 9-10 month nursing strike?

Anyone ever get past a nursing strike at this age? I guess it isn't a complete strike because she will still nurse at night and it the morning but won't nurse at all during the day. I've tried cutting back on the solids a bit. If I offer her bottle of expressed milk, she'll gulp it right down but she screams at the boob. I haven't nursed this long before so I'm not sure what to expect at this age. My supply is dipping a bit and I don't have time to try to pump during the day.

How long has she been doing this for? DD1 completely refused to nurse around that age for about 24 hours. The next day she was completely fine. I got my first PP period about a week later, that was the only thing I could contribute it to..
    Edited for spelling.

  • She has been doing it around 5 days. My period never stopped with nursing, so I've had it all along, but I haven't had it in the last two months. I have Mirena though and I know that can mess some things up.

  • It's very unusual for babies to wean themselves that young. Have you tried nursing her when she's sleepy, offering her the boob more often, going somewhere that's quiet and boring? Try not to panic, and just keep offering. I'd be hesitant to offer her a bottle bc it takes lass work for her to get milk from it, and she might become acclimated to it. hth

  • She actually nursed a few more times today. I just hope I didn't fuck up my supply too much, I just really couldn't pump as much as I should have. She's been super constipated right now, so maybe that was why she wasn't eating as much. Thx for the responses!

  • Maybe she just wasn't feeling well? So many things mess with their nursing habits, sometimes you just can't pin it down. Glad things were better today.

Also, I imagine if she goes back to nursing more often your supply will catch up. DS1 was able to get milk 6 weeks after I tried to wean him the first time. He was asking to nurse and I thought, oh I'll just let him see there's no more milk left and he'll get over it. Wrong and wrong.

Just keep offering it to her. That's what I did & she got over it.

  • Your supply will come back the more she nurses! Like magic!
