Re: s/a ?
The first couple of times DH went (it was for a freeze though) he went alone. Then the last time, I went with him. Really only because it was a long ride and I was curious to see the place. Hmmm, I don't remember how long it took. I waited in the lobby. I guess as long as it takes him.
We got the results I think the same day, if not, then the next day. But it was really fast.
If he asked you, I would prob go. It can be pretty tramatizing for some. I mean, not that all our tests aren't but I like to think that we are stronger, lol.
GL!
Have you had an HSG as well? It's standard practice (or should be) that your DH gets and SA and you get an HSG before starting Clomid, since Clomid can't help blocked tubes or bad sperm.
SA's are a source of great consternation for men because of the fear of the unknown. For my DH's first one, we were able to collect at home. For the other 2, we were together for an RE appt. anyway, so technically I was there (I just sat in the waiting room until he was done).
You can go, but he'll likely be sent alone into a room to do the collection. You can always ask if you can go in with him to help. He basically does his thing, hands a cup to a nurse, and they do the analysis. It typically takes anywhere from 3-7 days to get results back.
The first time DH went for an SA I did not go with him - they only time I go with him is if and when he is providing a sample for IUI.

My DH did both of his at home and I brought the samples to the lab. The next one he will do at the RE's office, but he's already done 2, so he's an old pro at this point...I don't think I'll go.
It freaked him out the first time though...but it gets easier. Good luck to you guys!
