Plastibell and bath ?

DS is 2 weeks old today and was circ'ed last Monday at 8 days old. We haven't given him a bath yet because his stump only just fell off last Thursday. Can we give him a bath with the plastibell still on? I know we don't have to use vaseline on it, we have been, just because DH wants to. He's starting to smell a little like spoiled milk.

Give him a sponge bath if you don't want to do full submerging. Warm rag and some soap under the chin and by by milk funk

@MamaHollywood27 Is it okay to submerge it? The dr that did it didn't say anything about bathing and I can't seem to find any conclusive info online. I prefer to do a full bath instead of a sponge bath, personally.

The dr that did my sons said not to do anything but wring out water from a wash cloth on it when bathing (which of course sponge bath Right outta the hospital) so I assume that means no submerging until its off.
He realllllly enjoyed that so id just pour from a cup.
I think they expect cord/plastibell to fall off around the same time though. DS is 2w & neither have fallen off completely yet. Plastibell was done...11 days ago & is almost completely off.

No submerging with the plasti bell on according to our instructions. We just did sponge baths until it fell of at around 14 days.

Okay, thanks so much. We did do a bath, but the water was so shallow that his penis was never submerged.

My first had one and I'm pretty sure we weren't supposed to do a full bath until it fell off.  I would definitely do the sponge bath, though.
