Question about the Capital One Healthcare Finance (SAIFW)

What if your doctor is not in the list of doctors who accept the finance??  My doctor is not in it but one of the doctors from his practice is so can I ask my doctor to be a part of it or will I have to go to his partner for my treatment if I qualify or does this mean I cannot use this option for payment at all??  Does anyone know how this works?? TIA.

Re: Question about the Capital One Healthcare Finance (SAIFW)

  • huh, weird. I guess you'd better call your practice to ask. At my practice I basically see both doctors equally and both of them accept Capital One because they're part of the same practice. Hopefully it was just an omission on the Capital One website!

  • I don't know the answer to that question.  To be honest, it really shouldn't matter if your doctor participates or not.  We used about a 1/3 of our loan amount for our IVF.  The remainder was sent to us in check form from Capital One.  Our clinic could have "banked" the funds, but it would have been more of a hassle to get the money released if we didn't use it all.

We took the Capital One check and started a seperate savings account with only that money.  As our statements come, we shuffle money around and pay out of that account.

I suppose they want some doctor's name on record with your application as proof of what you are using the money for, but what would happen if you change doctors during treatment?

  • I thought the way it was set up is that you apply for the loan and if you get approved the money get sent to your RE to cover the cost.  I did not realize that you get the money and then disburse as you see fit - so am I correct in thinking that you get the money and then pay for treatments, meds, etc as it comes up??

  • Our check was sent directly to our RE's office and they put the money on our account. ?If we want some of the money (to pay for meds for example), we call the office and ask them to cut us a check for $X amount. ?I had issues finding my doctor online, so we just called to apply and they found him with no problem. ?Maybe try calling to see if they have it listed another way on their end.

  • You can also see if your doctor is listed with ARC (Advanced Reproductive Care).? That's how I was able to get the money from Capital One.? ARC is a participant & they give you a set price for the procedures.? They get paid from Capital One & then send the money to the RE.
