Prince George left at home

The media is going nuts that Kate and William are running around some exclusive resort sans 8month old Prince George.

I'm guessing it's partially because they were so open about being "on hands" parents. And mostly because who doesn't want to run around some exclusive resort?!

What about you guys: cool to leave the 8month at home? Or not cool?

  • I don't understand what is so bad unless they are not planning on returning.. I'm off for spring break next week and contemplating if I should not send the baby to daycare all 5 days. . .I'll probably feel guilty and only send him 4...

Sending baby to daycare for a bit when you're on vacation: with DD1 I was horrified by that, but now I'd probably do it for a few hours. Not for 12 hours each day, but I'd probably give myself some time to get lunch or run errands or hang with DH for a bit.

  • They have the means and resources to bring a nanny so that would have been the most right thing to do in my mind.

Right now I am so desperate for a break I would leave all three of them with a sitter for a week just to sleep in a tent for a week.

  • I would do that in a heartbeat right now. Breastfeeding would be tricky. But, I would probably make it work out by pumping, depending on how long they are there. I personally might just postpone for a couple of months and go when I am done breastfeeding, since I don't plan to really go past a year.

I don't follow celebs closely, but last I heard she was bf. If she still is, pumping at a resort does not sound fun. 8mos is too young to leave, if you still bf. If you don't, it's still nms, but whatever woks for you.

    Pretty much this exactly

  • It's one week and while I most likely would have taken the nanny, that resort is awesome. #sleeeeeeeepwanted #cocktailsneeded

  • I think it's ok and I would do it at 8 months. Prob not now. Yes I'm sure they have the means to bring a nanny along but they also deserve time together as a couple. Good for them. I'm jealous!
  • I don't see the problem with it. The media sensationalizes everything

  • If they left the baby home alone then that is OBV an issue…. I am pretty sure baby was left in amazing hands and is very happy, wether she is BF'ing or not who cares… their decision her boobs. Glad she is getting her time with her husband to connect and have fun, I can't WAIT for my 10 day refresh in Europe with DH. I will come home recharged, well rested, and ready to be hands on again. "hands on" doesn't mean 24/7 each day of every year.

That depends, is he home alone with just a baby monitor or is someone actually watching him?

All kidding aside, I think it's fine. We are leaving DS with my parents at 6 months to go away for a long weekend.

He is with grandma and grandpa Middleton. I think if you get away then do it! We also deserve a vacation.

  • Meh, I don't see a problem with it.  We're leaving DD with my mom for 4-nights next month and she's BF.  She'll be almost 7 months.  I wouldn't leave her for more than that though.
  • Everyone parents differently. End of story.
