I'm doing my 24 hour urine catch today! Yay, so glamorous. I have to go now but I'm holding it in cause I don't want too! Ha, I'm in denial I have to pee in a jug all day.
I'm not on bed rest, dr never even mentioned it as option right now, though he does want to induce me at 39 weeks. My bp was good today, in 120s when I woke up. But that's after a three day weekend, so once I'm back up and at em, I'm sure it will be back in 140s and 150s (when I get home fom work it's usually 150).
Just me, my husband and our two dogs for now;
Natural pregnancy 5/2011, mc @ 9 weeks 7/2011;
IVF 5/2012, 5 eggs retrieved none fertilized;
Natural pregnancy 9/2012, mc @ 10weeks 11/2012;
Natural pregnancy 7/2013, due 4/2014

Wow really?! The first day when I was in the 150's it was strict bed rest. Hmm. Wonder if your dr. is old school or new school? Are you on meds?
@Emilyroche3 nope, not on meds, those haven't been mentioned either.

With dd, I was set to l&d the first time my bp went up. I spent the night and was put on bedrest from 36 wks on. This time (2 yrs later), same OB, my bp will go as high as 150's/100's after work, but as long as I can get it down once I'm home, I'm good- no meds , no bedrest. I find it kind of odd, but I'm just going with it. My ob also mentioned that the general trend is to be a little more conservative with magnesium, which I thought was interesting.
So I officially have pre-e doctors made me stop work today and have twice weekly testing. BBPs and NSts and there inducing me at 37 weeks!! I'm Freaking out!! 2 weeks and I get to meet my little guy
Hope everyone is feeling better and cooking them babies!
Rebekah is doing great in the nicu and hoping to go home next week . My question is for those who have had pre e: did your swelling in your feet go down immediately or still have flares up? Mine keep swelling but all the swelling in my face and hands are gone. I just look like Fred Flinstone

Glad to hear baby is doing well! Did you have a c-section?
Extreme feet and ankle swelling is very normal after a c-section.
As of Monday no pre-e signs We are still shooting for 39 weeks
My blood pressure was sky high at yesterday NST. I've never seen my nurse so nervous. 155/126. She thought Id be having a st. Patty's baby. But it steadily went down during the NST. The last one was at 133/82 It just confirms bedrest is best for me.
Bright side. Baby is awesome! He rocked the NST and is measuring huge 7 lbs 3oz Friday. 7lbs 10oz yesterday at 35 weeks 3 days. My husband is a really big guy so I'm not too surprised. 6ft 5" and 250lbs. He was a 12 baby.
Keeping cooking those babies ladies! Rest up as much as possible
Just joining! Was sent to L&D last night for High BP, protein in urine, swelling & weight gain. Doing the 24 hours Urine sample and seeing my Dr. on Thursday for follow up. My liver and kidneys looked fine. So glad to be home and continuing to cook this baby girl.
Must say I was so impressed with our hospital and it put me at ease to know how nice and caring all the nurses were (and we met the majority of them since no one could get an IV through these puffy hands haha).
Hope everyone is feeling better and cooking them babies!

No had her vaginally- I was told it could take 6 weeks for the swelling to go down but they are bigger now than when I was having problems. I couldn't bend my ankle they were so bad last night.
As far as puffy hands and Ivs that sucks. Also had to have my blood drawn every two hours or so bc my platelettes just kept dropping and again after labor. I was in the hospital for 6 days . I have 15 needle pricks just on my right hand alone. That's not the left, or the ones from the elbows.
Just got discharged again! Lol was given iv meds to bring down Bp and kept over night. Had a sonogram and baby is measuring slightly small for 35 weeks. He's 4lbs 11oz. Dr said placenta might be about to stop working which is common w hypertension. But for now keep on bed rest and I will be seen in office twice a week and have a sonogram every week.
Just got back from the Dr. BP was in normal, lost 2lbs, but still protein in urine. Will now get bloodwork on Monday, Ultrasound at hospital every Tuesday, and see the Dr. every Friday until Baby comes. Feeling better and resting as much as I can.
My BP was great at my appointment (128/78) however my Doctor doesn't want me to go past 39weeks as it has been all over the place. I'll be 38weeks on Monday so this lady will be here very soon! I'm nervous about the possibility of being induced so I'm going to try to get labor going on my own this week. Fingers crossed it works!
That's a great BP! My last check was crazy high, 170/110. But slowly went down with rest. I'd be happy with a 38 week baby. Bed rest is so hard. Hope labor starts soon for you!
I'm still in the hospital (9 days) and my doctor has moved my Csection up to Tuesday 3/25! I will be 37w2d. My bp has been pretty good overall on hospital bedrest but I have a had few random spikes with major headache and blurred vision. It got so bad with ds that I don't think we want risk getting into an emergency situation again. I have been get nst daily and weekly sonograms and baby is looking good to go!
Keep Chillin' ladies...we are almost to the finish line
@embear22 I haven't posted in here yet either but I've been creeping off and on. I was put on labetalol two weeks ago and my first two days were pretty rough.
I felt shakey, weak, my vision went funny for a bit (which we all knows means a trip to L&D to see if "this is it" and shit has gotten real), and my head was SO SO itchy. It was terrible. I felt like I was drunk, with the spins and all.
But the good news is that it got better as my system got used to it. I still get a bit sleepy but it's nothing like what it was before. That being said of course it's always good to get checked out and make sure that everything going on with you IS in fact a side effect of the drugs and not related to your BP etc, but just know you're not alone in this!
I'm on labetalol and when I first when on it and when my dosage increased, I remember feeling very lightheaded to the point of nausea.. And i felt off for a day or two until my body adjusted.
Ok so I'm supposed to b doing kick counts n I have been but lately they are taking forever. I used to get 10 in 20 30 mins now it litterally takes the whole two hours n the kicks aren't strong kicks they are more like him slightly moving. I'm an emotional mess today. I have a NST tomorrow should I just wait n talk to doc tomorrow??
I find I have days like this too, where is isn't the big movements I'm used to. And everything is fine. BUT, if it's anything that is causing you to worry - and it clearly is, I would call in. If they want you to come in and get checked then maybe they'll just swap your NST today for the one scheduled tomorrow. Either way you'll have peace of mind which is crucial.
I am 34 weeks and 4 days and was diagnosed on Thursday with pre-e. The week before last I was having some headaches, which is not normal for me, so I went to the doctor. My blood pressure was up but not too high 130s/80something. Doctor wanted me to come back on Monday for more tests. I've been on procardia since 27 weeks for lots of BH contractions and what they thought was funneling (turned out to be just a pocket of mucus...who knew?) so my blood pressure shouldn't be high at all. Monday I went back and my blood pressure was up 140/80something with a 2+. Doc took me out of work and wanted me to do a 24 hour urine. Thursday blood pressure was 150/100 and protein was 385. He wanted to put me in hospital but had me do home monitoring on bed rest instead. My blood pressures have actually been pretty good. Not exceeding 143/89 and mostly in the normal range. I guess the bed rest is working? Anyone else having lots of normal readings at home with pre-e on bed rest?
I had a lot of normal readings and then one morning I woke up with a terrible headache and the side pain under the boob. It hurt Everytime I took a breath. I was in the 150 and by the time I got to the hospital it was 167/100. I was induced that morning.
I was always lower at home resting bc it's where I'm most comfortable and relax. At the drs office they always had to take it several times bc it would be very high and gradually go down. Maybe I over thought it idk.
I've read that things can change really fast, so that's good to keep in mind. Doc told me they will more than likely induce me at 37 weeks, but I was really hoping to go au natural. Still crossing my fingers. Glad to have found this thread!
When were you diagnosed? I was placed on BR at 31w1d for high bp but was officially diagnosed with pre-e 3 days later when my urine came back positive for protein.
What symptoms are you having? Other than mildly high bps and a mildly elevated protein in my 24 hr urine (316 mg), nothing. I am very conscious about how I feel though- every time my head starts to ache I wonder if it's the start of a pre-eclamptic headache or if baby's got his foot wedged up under my rib I'm afraid it's actually epigastric pain from an enlarged liver!
What's your highest reading and is that consistent? 144/88. Prior to pre-e I always ran around 100s-low 110s/50s. Now it's anywhere from the 110s-high 130/70s-80s.
What's the plan for your case? I was diagnosed at 31 wks which I'm told is relatively early (although I'm grateful that I'm as far along as I am!) so the first goal is to get to 34 wks. If I make it to 36/37 wks I will be induced. I'm on BR and have weekly appts with lab work as needed, and either a nst or us with bpp weekly. I'm supposed to check my bp 2x/day but I check it way more often. I'm thankful that my pre-e is still mild so far but it is a little frustrating not being able to work when my bps are good and I'm not having any other symptoms! But of course I will do whatever it takes to keep my baby developing inside me for as long as possible, since I know pre-e can worsen very suddenly.
I'm so glad someone started this thread! I've been on a roller coaster of emotions since my diagnosis and it's nice to hear other people's experiences since pre-e can present so differently and there's such a wide variety of outcomes. Good luck to you all!
I know exactly what you mean! I am in the same boat. Although, I think that working (as a kindergarten teacher) was way too active and was probably making my blood pressure way worse. Now that I've been relaxed at home, I think it's helped my blood pressure come down a little. Crossing my fingers you make it to the 37 week mark. That's what they are saying for me also!
Doctor's appointment today. Hoping I can keep my blood pressure down in the office, like it's been at home.
I'm also a teacher, hmmmmm... I think that it is hard to not be a worry wart with pre-e because things can change so fast but we need to be calm, right!? Everybody keep updating and rest rest rest! I will be having my csection tomorrow at noon! I'm excited and nervous. Doctor said I will have to be on mag for a least awhile after the surgery maybe before. I'm really bummed about that because it basically knocked me out for 24 hours with ds.

I'm not on any meds. BP spiked for me 2 weeks ago out of the blue. No previous BP issues ever, even with my prior 2 pregnancy.
