What's involved in a FET cycle?

I spoke to the nurse today and was asking when we could do out FET, she said i had to do a Mock cycle first.  She didn't really get into the details but i'm confused... is this normal?

What kind of monitoring do you have to do?  and how often?

I don't see my doc until the end of the month so i'm just hoping to gather info now

I didn't have to do a mock cycle. I just had to do BC and now I am on lupron for 3 weeks..then I will start estrace and progesterone when Im directed to do so..monitoring (approximately 4 times) the entire time for bloodwork and ultrasound and then my transfer. Sorry i don't have much info but this is my first FET and I am currently going through it now.

@prayingforblessing pretty much hit it on the head with her description. I did not do a trial first either. BCP the 3 weeks Lupron, then estrace and then PIO. I did 2 suppression checks and 2 lining checks... Much easier than a full cycle.

Could the nurse have meant a mock transfer instead of a mock cycle? A mock transfer is done to check out the "layout" of your uterus in preparation for the real transfer (this was how my RE explained it to us).

You may want to clarify with your clinic.

I'm just starting an FET cycle.  There's been a bit of time since we last cycled and there was the pregnancy/D&C, so I have to update my CD3 bw/us and do another mock ET (I did one before IVF #1).  Those wouldn't otherwise be part of a normal FET at my RE.

FET at my RE takes 4 appointments and the meds are BCPs, Delestrogen, and PIO.

Today, I started BCPs and will take them for 3 weeks.  2 days after the last pill I have to go in for a baseline appointment (appt #1).  If all is good, I'll start Delestrogen every third evening for 5 nights.  Then I go back for a lining check (appt #2).  If it's good I'll start PIO every night and continue the Delestrogen.  FET (appt #3) is scheduled for the 6th day of PIO.  Delestrogen and PIO continue until beta (appt #4).

I'm doing my 3rd FET now. I am on 2wks of BCP, then I go in for my baseline on Saturday. At which point I will start taking Del Estradiol shots (1 shot every 3rd day). After 2 weeks (5 shots) I retun for blood work and US, then start progesterone shots every night for about 5days while also continuing the estradiol shots. FET is day 6 of progesterone. (Both shots continue until instructed to stop or at least until 1st beta). So as far as monitoring goes I only have 2 appts before FET. Now I'm not sure what a mock cycle is, but mock transfer is possible. My RE does them at the start of each cycle but only if there has been more than 6mo since the last one. It's an in office procedure that is a mock of a real transfer.

My FET regimen was similar with BCP for 2+ weeks, then leuprolide. AF comes in between. Then added Vivelle (estradiol) patches every 3 days about 3 weeks before FET. PIO started 5 days before FET.

My FET  has no bcps.... just estrace and PIO's.  I did do a mock transfer.... not a mock cycle though.

Maybe she meant a mock transfer (or i misremembered) but she said they would take blood work to see if i ovulated on my own and if my lining was good or something

Seems its a bit different for everyone
