Probably dumb sibling name question

Hi all! I have two boys, Jack and Spencer. When we had Jack, I wanted to name him John and call him Jack to honor DH's stepfather John. DH insisted we just use Jack since we never intended to call him John, so his legal name is Jack.
Now we're going to start trying for a third in a couple of months and of course I'm already thinking baby names. DH wants to use John for hypothetical boy #3 but I don't think that makes any sense since Jack is traditionally a nickname for John...I feel like that would be having two boys named Hank and Henry or Liam and William.

What do y'all think?

I agree with you. Jack and John is too much. I second PPs name of using John in the middle name spot if it's that important to him.

I agree with you. Plus I can't stand siblings starting with the same letter. Much too cutesy and cheesy.

Yeah, I am with you.  It's weird to have two boys with basically the same name.

Could you use John as a MN?

Definitely don't use John. But you could use named derived form John like

No! Don't use the name a second time!

However, I think that using another variation of John, such as Evan, like PP suggested is acceptable. The MN idea is okay too, but not preferable.
