Holy Crap! Baby on the Way!

So I went to my doctor yesterday and I am 2cm dilated... at 36 weeks... yikes!  My doctor told me he doubts I will make it through the weekend without the little one coming.  I am so excited/nervous.  I was planning on working one more week and having down time before she came.  Now I am sitting in my office trying to tie up any loose ends I can.  Eeeep!  Wish me luck!

I assume there is more to this prediction than the 2cm? If not I probably wouldn't put away those work clothes just yet.

Hopefully your doctors prediction is accurate, but I was 2cm with my first for 2 weeks. It doesn't really mean much.

I was a 4cm for 2 weeks with twins, got to an 8 without even being in labor.

Dont hold your breath, you may be waiting 4+ weeks still.

2cm means nothing. Since we seem to be playing the "how dilated and impending labor game"...I have been at 4cm 80% effaced for a week and I have a shitty cervix that LIKES to dilate, labor nowhere in sight.

I'd plan to be heading into work on Monday.

I hate when doctors say stupid things like this.  Why get someone's hopes up when dilation on its own means NOTHING when it comes to when you'll go into labor

@ocean88, I would not get your hopes up...you could walk around at 2cm dilated for another 5 weeks...seriously.

Just FYI, this is my second kid, there was more to it than just being 2cm and I agree with my doctor... I was merely posting about being excited for the baby to be here soon.  Thanks for all the positive feed back.

I went to 41 weeks with my second kid (39 with my first).  Not sure what else is going on, but I still wouldn't get overly excited.

Then I dub you bag of rocks. Cause again, I was 2 cm since 36 weeks and I had to be induced.. This is my second kid as well. Don't quit your day Job *continues to catch up*

Okay....I am 1.) 3 cm dilated 2.) lost my mucus plug last week 3.) sitting here eating popcorn not thinking ok going into labor anytime soon.

I'm excited for you and me that we will be having our babies sometime before April.

What else do you want us to say? 2 cm and no plug doesn't mean jack shit and if your Dr is sure based off of those two things you'll be in labor naturally this weekend he/she is an idiot.
