Lower back

Lower back pain is for the most part normal ?

Re: Lower back

  • Yep... Well I get the odd pain here and there... Maybe due too everything adjusting and stretching
  • Maybe you need to see the chiropractor? It sure helped me last time I was pregnant with back pain.

  • Depends.

It can be. I'm my case it meant 4 days in the hospital and not being able to walk.

Is it sharp, achy, shooting, localized?

  • It is achy and shoots down to my sciatic sort if down my leg I read that was normal ?
  • I would pursue physical therapy. It's not known to be a common problem until 3rd tri. My personal opinion is that sciatic problems can be aggravated because of relaxin.

  • Usually if it's sciatic, stretching works best for me. People say that their chiro works wonders, but not in my experience. I guess if you have a subluxation causing the nerve pain, but usually my over tense muscles cause my nerve pain.

Agree to this and your previous response.  I usually take a muscle relaxant regularly for cervial spine issues and secondary sciatica as a result.  Now that I've had to stop them I notice I have to hold my stretches longer per pose, after working out.  My muscles are getting more tense and then the pregnancy is causing more sciatica.  Argh.

  • I met with a nurse educator yesterday and asked if it's okay I use a heating pad because last year I somehow herniated two discs. I went through a couple months of physical therapy, and it's much better but heat makes it better. She said yes, heating pad is fine on low. But she also said if the pain gets worse, I have to tell then and they'll send me back to physical therapy. Hoping that it doesn't get that bad!!
