First transvaginal ultrasound/possible twins

Today was my first transvaginal ob ultrasound at my fertility office they saw 2 gestational sacks one with a yolk in it the other was just a sac. The one sac is just measuring two days behind the one with the yolk sac. They said twins are a possibility what are the chances of the second baby growing a yolk sac by the next time we have our second ultrasound and get to hear the heartbeat. Anyone on here have a twin measure two days behind on a early ultrasound but had them catch up and you heard two heartbeats at the next ultrasound? Baby A was measuring 5 weeks 3 days Baby B was measuring 5 weeks 1 day

I had this happen and the other did catch up, even though in the end mine did not end with twins.  It is in my siggy.  First US I had two sacs with yolk but one measured behind...then the next week it was 2 heartbeats and one still measured a little behind.  The next US there were still 2 heartbeats and on the 4th there was only one heartbeat.  One can be a late implanter.

My first ultrasound just showed one gestational sac, and a possible yolk sac.  This was around 5 weeks.  My second ultrasound in the 6th week showed one gestational sac and two yolk sacs/heartbeats.  I am currently pregnant with mono-di twins.

During my first u/s they thought I might have a 2nd sac... it was gone a week later so they assumed it was some bleeding! Good luck to you!

I have no twin experience, but from lots of reading, it seems pretty normal for them to be a few days off like this. Congrats and looking forward to your next ultrasound!

Our baby b measured a little behind for awhile in the beginning. He caught up though.

I went in for a scan at 6 weeks. All they saw were 2 empty sacs - no yolk in either -measuring 5w1d (both measured the same). I went in a week later - I should have been 7w then, but we did see 2 fetal poles with hbs (128 and 131) both babies measuring 6w1d. So both of mine are measuring 6 days behind and we did IVF. I still don't understand it but think my situation isn't uncommon based on everything I read during what I call "hell week".  I don't know how they look now, I haven't been in for 2 weeks, but I think it is very possible for the other sac to catch up and often twins measure days apart on growth. And LOTS can happen in 7 days at this point.
