UO

I can not stand the phrase "To each their own." Drives me crazy!
Mostly I only hear it when people are doing something stupid and use that to try to defend themselves. Like a mom giving her 1 year old diet coke in a bottle and they reply with my other peeve, "everyone parents differently!" No shit?!
Of course both are accurate statements, but if you feel the need to point it out, I think you're annoying.

Re: UO

  • UO - blowing up my facebook wall with all your political statements and opinions will get you blocked - I think FB should be used to keep with friends and family and what's going on in their lives, not their latest soapbox spiel

I've unfriended lots of people because of this. I also unfriend people that are trashy, I don't want to see that!

Well, to each their own.... j/k ;)

I think the Bump "Social Groups" is an awesome idea!

Again, just kidding.....I can't even make myself lie about that one, even though I'm sure it's not a UO.

  • I have no rational reason, I just don't the the TBT on FB.  Every Thursday I have to my news feed bombarded by old year book and class photo photos.

What I always wonder is who has the time to scan all those old photos every Thursday? And why??

This isn't really my UO, but my husband's, which I have to live with. He is very adamantly against posting pictures of DD on the internet, Facebook, whatever. I have never once posted a picture of her anywhere. He is very paranoid about the wrong people getting a hold of the pictures (child porn sites, etc). I get his point, but I still hate it. My DD is super cute and I hate that I can't post pictures of her for my friends and family to see!

I do TBT every now and then, but I'm pretty lazy about it..I have some old photos that I scanned and uploaded to FB year ago, so I just use them...or today I did one that I took on my phone when DD was a couple of weeks old...I only do it on Instagram mostly..that way I don't clog up people's newsfeeds.

  • @JandACoffee - When I was in college, I prepared a lot of low income tax returns (it was pro bono work for the CPAs-to-be).  There were some families that genuinely needed the help and were so grateful for it.  Like, one family came in and I said that they were getting forty two seventy back meaning $4,270 and she took it as $42.70.  When I explained my mistake and that I really meant forty two HUNDRED seventy, she started crying in my office.  She had been working two jobs and they desperately needed to make some repairs to their house, and that's what they were going to use the money for.  For families like that, I'm all for the earned income credit.  But, then, other families came in and were planning on banking on big returns to take a vacation (that woman in particular irked me - she was going to leave the kids with her parents and go on a cruise with her boyfriend) or something else that's generally considered a luxury, it kind of bugged me.  I don't normally judge people indulging on luxuries for themselves (there are times when I've made a choice based on desire instead of necessity), but I kind of do when it's taxpayer supported.  I can't afford to drop $7K on a cruise, so I kind of have a hard time subsidizing someone else to be able to, KWIM?
