Sleeping help pls!!!!

Ok so Nia is now 2 months old and she's my first child. I have a soft spot and spoil her because of our rough pregnancy and her NiCU stay. She sleeps with me! In bed! All night! She can't fall asleep on her own unless she's exhausted and if she's asleep and i put her in her crib or bassinet or swing she'll wake up like 20 mins later and she'll scream bloody murder! She falls asleep best on my chest, or in my arms!!! I'm going back to work next month and I really wanna get her to sleep in her bed and be able to stretch ! She is sleeping so good she sleeps for 6 hours at a time during the night now we just need to get her in her bed. I tried last night but I was exhausted and she was screaming so I caved.

Any advice? Help pls !?

Re: Sleeping help pls!!!!

  • Have you tried placing a heating pad on the matress, and removing it before placing her in her bed? I tried wearing the sheet before making his bed so it would smell like me. These methods were hit or miss with my son.

  • I had the same thing happen with my LO. We bought the fisher price rock n play sleeper deluxe (snugabunny) where she has been sleeping off and on since about 3/4 weeks old. She is starting to get too big and we are transitioning to her crib but it has been a life saver! I would have her sleep right next to my side of the bed so I could rock her or pick her up if needed.
  • Keep trying to put her in her crib if that's where you want her to sleep.  I find swaddling helps too.

  • My daughter is finding the same issue with her 3 month old daughter.  She will sleep in the bouncer but when they lay her down in the bassinet, she instantly fusses and won't stop.  I keep telling them that she can't sleep forever in that because like mentioned above, she will soon be too long for it.  I am going to give them the suggestions that were mentioned here and hope something works.  If anyone has other ideas I would love to hear them, my girls always slept in their cribs with no problem.
