Fennel oil for low milk supply

Am I the last to know about Fennel oil?  I just discovered this and am realizing that many people knew already.  It helps with making fatty milk and more milk.  You can take it by mouth or apply to chest.  It gave me four ounces day 1 and five day 2.  Freaked me out because I've never had enough milk in my life.  Now I have too much?!  I had a friend tell me about it, but said it has to be from Young living or Doterra b/c they use quality something or another.  

All I know is I'm starting a stash and could never do that with my son.  Has anyone else tried it and had success?

Is it safe to take? I've read that it may be carcinogenic and not to take it
