Grandparents sent birth announcement without asking

My parents sent out birth announcements without asking me. To make it worse, the announcement only has a picture of me and the baby and not my fiance. Has this happened to anyone else? Do you agree that it's inappropriate? Any suggestions for how to handle?

Ummmm.... that was incredibly obnoxious of them. I guess your response would kind of depend on your relationship with them. If it were me, I would probably say, "I really would've appreciated you letting me send out my own birth announcements first or at least checking with me." But also my parents probably wouldn't have done that in the first place. What sucks is that it can't be undone now, so you kind of just have to decide whether or not it's worth a potential fight/uncomfortable situation.

Regardless of whether or not you choose to address it, still send out your own birth announcements (if you were planning to in the first place,) even if they'll be going to most of the same people.

My mom said it was because family members were requesting pictures. And I understand not everyone has social media or is tech savvy enough to see pics online, but she didn't have to create a birth announcement! Some wallet photos would've been just fine or she could've referred those relatives to me! AND she could've run the idea past me first! I just can't believe it.

UGHHHHH!!!! MY MIL did the same thing I wanted to go craZy!!!! I was on hospital bed rest for the last three weeks of my pregnancy so all I did while in there was plan our birth announcements and here she goes to walmart!!!! And freaking uses a picture of me looking absolutely horrible, hair not done, and we were in the NiCU and you can see my daughters iv and DH of course looked fine. I was heated and DH had the nerve to ask me if I wanted her to print extra! Ugh no burn those damn things!!!! Well she only sent them to his family anyway !!! Sorry this happened to you too, I didn't say anything because I didn't want to seem ungrateful so I have no advice

The announcements say "Proud grandparents ____ and ____." And only went out to my side of the family too. It's just so absurd! Who does that?! My parents I guess...

In the mood I've been lately I would slap my mil or mom if either of them did that.
