Exciting news about a new community feature!
Coming soon: Social Groups!
What are social groups? This feature will allow members to create personalized groups, invite-only groups and private groups on The Bump.
There will be three types of groups users can create. Social groups can be 1) public; 2) invite only to post but visible to all; or 3) private - invite only to post and invite only to view.
One thing to note: Social groups will not be moderated by The Bump, but it is expected you follow the same community rules while in the groups. Private or not, we urge you not to share any personal information.
Look out for this new feature next week!
Re: Coming soon: Social groups!
Poster A, B, and C get to chat about poster D and poster d can read but not respond? Yeah. That'll stop bullying.
And can you respond to the concerns about personal info being shared without on these boards and how that will be handled if the bump isn't moderating that were raised on parenting?

There are a few big ones and BJ isn't very clear.
First, how will trolls be handled? Any group member can invite a new member to the group. So trolly member could invite their AE and cause drama. We'd like to know if it's obvious who invited the troll and how the troll would be removed/banned if the bump won't moderate. BJ says trolls would never be invited to the groups... But sadly some trolls hide their crazy just long enough to get invited before breaking out the asshole.
Another was the posting of personal info. There have been several cases of trolls/AEs posting personal info about parenting posters on the board. If this info is posted in a group, how is that handled? Especially if it's a type two group? I wouldn't want my name or info being undeletable by bump mods just because it's in a social group. You could message BJ, but some posters on parenting have been waiting a month to hear back from her. That's a long time to have your real name sitting on a web page.
