I am so confused... I feel like I can't get a straight answer!
I have been going to a local family practice doctor. After my US they saw that my placenta was low so he referred me to an OB. I visited her a week and a half ago and she said that most times it corrects itself and gave me a few restrictions. I went in yesterday for my "first OB appt" at the "new" OB. I had to swing by my previous dr andget my records. Looking at them it says that my placenta overlaps 3.5cm. When I asked my OB yesterday (different gal as they have a large practice and like you to see everyone), she said that it will most likely not correct itself and I will have to have a c-section.
So which is it... Alll these medical terms online confuse me????
Re: Low Lying Placenta
You have lots of time for it to move. They will most likely do a follow up ultrasound every few weeks until it's moved enough for comfort.
Picture your uterus as a slightly inflated balloon with a mark drawn on it. As the balloon fills & expands (your uterus grows), the mark on the balloon (placenta) moves along with it. 3.5cm is not an unrealistic distance for your placenta to move considering how large your uterus will get.
