Gonal F Question

Hi Ladies,

I'll be starting stims on thursday, however, unlike my first IVF, I am taking Gonal F on its own the first day, as opposed to mixing it with Menopur. The question is, can I reuse the needle it comes with?! Do I have to disinfect it or something? Last time I would mix it with the menopur so It was totally different and Im not sure if you can re-use needles or not... Thank you very much in advance!!

No. Use a new needle every time you inject.
If it's a pen, it should have a bunch of screw on/off needles in the box. If it's a vial, you should have been given needles to mix and inject with. You can use the same needle to mix, draw up your dose and inject, but use a new needle for every dose.

They should give you plenty of needles with your meds (the Pen or the vials). I was a big believer in switching needles, even after mixing, so they were as sharp as possible and the injections would hurt less.
