Baby Food Makers

So as I am starting to think about solids in the upcoming couple months, I am thinking about making my own veggies and fruits. I don't own a food processor, so I am looking at these "baby food making cookers/processors." I read reviews, but I was wondering if there are any STM's out there that own one and would be willing to make a recommendation. Or should I just get a food processor? Also are the cookbooks worth it? Or should I just use google. Also any tips are welcome, I am unfortunately not a gourmet or a foodie and I am not looking to punish little one for my lack of cooking ability, but really I don't think it can be that hard.

Also I don't remember seeing this before so if there was a discussion, that I didn't find in my search, please feel free to point me to it.

Re: Baby Food Makers

  • If you're set on doing purées I would just buy a food processor so you can use it in the future for food; the main difference would be size and price. A lot of people just freeze them in ice cube trays, but the baby bullet has cute faces. Otherwise you can be lazy like me and just let them do baby led weaning and chew on strips of fruits/veggies. They also have mesh feeders that you put food in so they can chew on it without the risk of choking on a large piece.

  • I just started making some and ended up buying a food processor and very happy with my decision. It works great! I wouldnt waste money on a book. Wholesomebabyfood.com has everything you need to know from what foods to introduce and when to how to cook, purée, store, and freeze.
