Babies: 0 - 3 Months

Check-up after baby.

What goes on at this appt.  I have mine on Monday, and really don't know what they are going to require me to do.

Also, is it normal for first AF after baby to be really really really heavy, and painful?

Re: Check-up after baby.

  • My PP appointment was fairly quick and simple.  They just asked some questions to make sure I didn't have PPD.  We talked about BC options and then she did a really quick internal.  I didn't have a Pap since I had one at my first prenatal appointment, but if you're due for one, they might do it then.

My first period wasn't too bad.  It seemed about normal from before having DS.  My second one was the killer.  It was really heavy, but the funny thing is that for as fast as it came, it left too.  My third one has been better- still a little painful and heavy, but it seems a lot more like normal.

  • Ok that makes me feel alot better, I thought I had gotten AF once before this one, and it came and went in about 3 days, and was very light, this one came on Tuesday, and I'm still bleeding like it's day 1, and I'm almost curled up in pain.

I asked a friend of mine, who unfortunately had m/c'd very early, and she said that's what it sounds like to her, anyone have a same experience?

  • My pp check up was VERY uneventful, they just asked a couple questions (making sure I didn't have any pain down there, etc...) we talked about birth control, and that was it! No exam or anything! (And I even had a third degree tear!)

And my first pp was HELL, it was awful, really heavy, and just plain miserable! I've heard that's pretty common!
