  • Those are totally within normal doubling times for how early you are. Keep getting them done until you are comfortable with the results. Will be praying for you and your little baby.

  • Unfortunately, since I am just with my OB/GYN and not an RE, I get treated like every other pregnant woman, which means my ass will have to wait until MONDAY for tomorrow's results. Sigh.

I was surprised by my doctor's response. According to the nurse, he was "very pleased" with the test results. Then when she said, "This is better than what we'd expect," I was all but blown away. Really?  I could tell she was gearing up to schedule me for my 8 week appointment, and I was all "Am I the only one seeing a problem here???" Because to me, this has disaster written all over it. My husband, bless his heart, is a pile of optimism. But I'm going to be really cranky if I have to lay out scads of money for Crinone and this is over by Monday.

Symptom-wise, I have horrible dry mouth. HORRIBLE. First I thought it was because I was sick, but then when I could breathe again, it remained, and that is the first thing that made me wonder if something was up. Two nights ago, the peeing started. I do not like this symptom, and I did not have it with my son or my other two pregnancies. I was up THREE times last night to pee. Because of the dry mouth, I have a huge glass of water next to my bed. So one thing isn't helping the other. For the amount I am peeing, my HCG should be WAY higher. I have insomnia at night and am exhausted during the day. And thanks to the hormones and lack of sleep, I'm even more of a nutjob than normal. And I'm not really super nauseous, just indifferent to food (this I have had before).

I've got far too many symptoms for such a dinky beta number. I just don't see how this will end well. But for now, I am knocked up, so I'm going to go with it and try not to think too much about it this weekend. Oh, who the hell are we kidding!!!

    Boo! That stinks.

I'm glad that the medical office has a positive outlook on your numbers. I agree with @on42: spoil yourself this weekend and get a manicure or something special to distract yourself. I'm looking forward to your update.

  • Thanks! How funny, we're just one day apart! I was totally prepared for bad news, so when she told me the numbers, I had to ask her to repeat them again. Immediately, I blurted, "I want another beta!!!" I had a loss not too long ago, so I'm trying to be cautiously optimistic (important when you are 42). Praying for healthy babies and boring pregnancies for both of us!
