I'm having a very early c/s at 34 1/2 wks - just got put on schedule today. I sent my husband a list of names and the only one he liked was the one he suggested: Eleanor. To me it is a very hard and harsh name, and as I already have 2 boys, it would be nice to have something softer. We'd probably nickname her Elle or Eli when she is little if we did name her Eleanor, but I feel like I am finally having a girl - I should choose a name I love...yet I'm struggling to find one!
Here are some I might still fight for, but I'd love other suggestions!!!!
Aurelia (my favorite girl's name as a child - you know, when you think about what you are going to name your child when you are still a child?)
Hannah
Leah (pronounced Lay-ah (Leia) - but my husband vetoed b/c of Princess Leia, argh!)
Maya
Mila (Meelah)
Mira (Meerah)
Sophie (I love but I know, very overused)
Re: c/s scheduled for Wednesday and no girl's name
Freya - I actually had this on my list and he likes it, but then worries he'll stop liking it when he stops liking "The Sword" (a band)
Lyra - Interesting option - I don't know any Lyras...
I'm not so into the other suggestions - they are too angelesque to me somehow. I did consider adding Vivienne and Suvi to my list though.
I think Sabine sounds much more harsh than Eleanor.
Emma and Sophie are so overused.
The rest are boring to me.
Since this is your H's daughter too, he should love the name as well. You should agree on something you both like.
