Got a cold!

Hi I am new to the board! Me and my fianc? just found out that we are expecting our first baby!! I am super excited because the doctors said that it would be hard for me to conceive because of my endrometrious (if that how you spell it Ha). So I feel very blessed. So now I am pregnant and have a stupid cold. I am all stuffed up. Does anyone have any recommendations??

I have had a sinus infection for the past few days and don't want to take drugs so I have been using a Neti Pot.  It works wonders and I started to feel better almost instantly.  GL and congrats!

Congrats first of all, that is great and excited news on your BFP.  I have had a terrible cold for the past 2 days.  I have been sleeping a lot.....drink hot tea and i also had a bad rash and took benadryl which actually helped with the cold too.  Drink lots of OJ too...and I hope you feel better!!

Welcome and congrats on your little miracle.

As for the cold, I would check with your doctor as each one is different. Mine said only Sudafed (the regular kind) for the stuffy nose and Tylenol for fever.

Just keep an eye on your temperature. If you get a fever, you don't want it to go past 101. It's safe to use Tylenol to keep it down. The nurse also said it was safe to use Robitussin (the plain kind with Guanefesin) and Vicks Vapor Rub. I have the flu so I've had to do some research on that stuff. It sucks to be sick while pg, it takes forever to get better. GL!

You can get an easier version of a netti pot called NeilMed, it's a bottle for doing a saline rinse.  It should help keep you from getting a sinus infection at least.  I've got a cold too...hope you feel better soon!

Thanks for all the advice!! I think I will get a netti pot today to clear out this stuffiness so i can breathe!!
