Who's got funny stories about injections/meds?

Rough couple of days, so I'm focusing on the humor. Today I had the unique experience of shooting up in the bathroom at a police headquarters. I was there for a class when med time came, so what else was I to do? Thought about leaving the syringes, just to keep them on their toes, but decided not to risk the attention.

I'm sure others have much better stories than this. What's your best med story?

OMG! Ladies! I am cracking up!! My inject stories are pretty mild... I've shot up in the car right before going in to see a movie at the theater... my sister's bathroom on Thanksgiving... my brother's bathroom on Super Bowl Sunday (had an unexpected bleeder and swiped a Scooby Doo bandaid off the kitchen counter when my nephew wasn't looking)... In the parking lot during my RE's support group... Nothing too funny though. Just do it

I have a few cup stories that I find funny. My husband? Not so much! LOL

Let's see, I shot Ganirelex all the way across the bathroom one day trying to get the air out of the syringe. I cut my thumb on a bottle of Menopur. Shot up in a church bathroom during a sweet 16 party.  

I love the stories, you gotta find the humor in these situations to get through.

My first PIO shot in the butt by myself - I watched tons of videos on You Tube. I DO NOT BEND THAT WAY! had to do it in front of a mirror to be sure I was in the circle. (Giggling picturing myself this evening since hubby is away again).

Only other funny one was traveling with lupron. We were flying back from
Chicago with my great aunt (who doesn't know about IVF - haven't told ANY family). I basically ditched her with my husband and beelined it to another security line so she wouldn't hear me talking to the agent about the meds.

Haven't had the car experience yet! Police station is pretty original

Strangest place was bowling alley parking lot. And a couple saw me. I always wonder if they thought I was either diabetic or drug addict.

These stories made me LOL!

During one of my first PIO injections, my DH got nervous and pushed the plunger down too fast. The syringe burst (while the needle was still in me) and PIO started leaking everywhere! Cue a freakout and call to RE's after hours line. Wasn't funny at the time, but it's funny thinking back on our reactions!

My husband and I sing "build me up buttercup" together and dances while I am injecting because it makes me laugh and not think about the needles.  I hope the neighbors don't hear us, we're terrible signers.

Well on my first IVF I was stimming at the time of my step brothers wedding.  So during the reception we snuck out to the car to do the inject.  I must preface the next part by saying that the grooms sister (my step sister) just broke off her marriage because she found out that he was a drug addict.  So we are in the car getting ready to pull the menopur into the syringe when the grooms walks but the front of our car.  I have my dress hicked up to my belly and DH and pulling the meds in to a syringe.  We ducked but pretty sure he saw us, and then after all that we were right out side the OPEN window where my whole family was sitting at the reception.  When I came back in my sisters (who know about IVF) were having to distract everyone from looking out the window when my grandmother and Dad said "Hey are they leaving?  They are getting into their car."  No one ever asked about it, or commented to me about it (my family is really poor about communication)  What a mess!!  But it is a good stroy!

I have done injects at several random places... lots of times in a car, in other people's bathrooms, all over the place... I feel like I could write Dr. Suess' Green Eggs and Ham but about injects!

I don't have any injection tales, but I do have an acupuncture story.  I go to community acupuncture.  They typically only pin your face,arms, legs, and feet because it is in a community setting. 

As I get closer to cycling, they have started doing some fertility pins which start 2 inches above your pelvic bone.  She does eventually cover me with a blanket, but I spend several minutes in the company of a mixed-bag of strangers with my belly chub hanging out.  Good times.

We have this really long mirror that runs the length of our double sinks in the bathroom. I lean against the sink while getting my PIO. One time I while my DH was giving me shot I looked in the mirror just as he was finished the aspiration to check for blood in the needle. He let the plunger go like he was letting go of a bow and arrow. He was totally pretending to be Robin Hood on my butt! Such a funny guy, totally busted! We still laugh about that one!

Ok, here's a little variation... a cup story

We have always done home collection since we live close enough to our clinic. I took the cup home after my monitoring appointment for one of our IUIs, but didn't read the instructions until after the bag sat in my car all day. Turns out, they use a liquid in the cup that must be refrigerated. I realized this around 4:45, called the clinic, no problem, come pick up another cup. So the morning of the IUI, DH is getting ready to do his thing... he always insists that I leave him be during this time... well, right before he gets started, I had a sudden panic attack about the cup. What if he had the wrong one?!? So I go bursting into the room to make sure before he starts. He was sooooo mad at me!!!

I did my first shot on an overnight train to Italy. I was in the bathroom on the train and wasn't ready to stab myself with the needle, but then the train jolted and I accidentally stabbed myself in the belly with it. That's how I got over my fear of injections.

I was too scared to do my very first shot, so DH grabbed a clean/empty needle and shoved it into his belly!!!
Thanks DH! Got me laughing and confident enough to do it to myself.

Eight years ago during our first inject iui, DH shot an entire vial of bravelle across the kitchen. All I saw was dollar signs! That's all I have, but some of these are hilarious!!
