Infant Enfamil D-Vi-Sol Supplement

Anyone giving this to their newborn?? I was told to give it to my LO and everytime I do she gets really gassy, has an upset tummy and can't poop for hours! I feel like since I am taking extra Vitamin D myself that it should be enough to be giving her through my breast milk. I feel like whatever is in this tuff is just not settling well with her and wondered if their is anything else or other kind that may work better, or if there is anything else I can do to be able to give it to her from my milk. FTM here so any ideas help!!

No idea about D, but DS is on poly-vi-sol with iron- a multivitamin. It STINKS.

Id ask your pedi if there's something else you can use.

We have been using that brand too and I haven't noticed any tummy issues. Are you giving it to LO at the same time each day? Before or after feedings?

I've given it to her before feedings and tried after feedings and both times she spits up my milk and has the worse tummy issues ever!!

I've never given it to any of my kids (both EBF) and shockingly enough, no one has rickets.

I noticed the same thing after giving it to DD1, after pressure from my pedi. I quickly ditched it.

I've always had a hard time accepting the fact that my breastmilk was lacking anything.

Kellymom does not recommend it for most breastfed babies.

Try carlson's vitamin d drops - it's just a drop, instead of a whole ml, so easier volume-wise

This. You can order it from Amazon, that poly-vi-sol stuff is filled with crap my newborn doesn't need!

Yeah the Enfamil has artificial coloring etc in it that my LO doesn't need! I'll try the carlsons drops. My pedi recommended it b/c I live at high altitude and she was born in the winter so she could end up deficient but I've never been and she's not!
