Ring sling mommas come in - so excited for new carrier!

I ordered a maya ring sling on amazon and I CAN NOT wait for it to arrive tomorrow! We have an ergo that LO loves for long walks but as soon as I stop moving she wakes up shrieking. We have a hand me down moby that LO has pretty much refused to nap in since about 10 weeks old so I'm hoping the ring sling will be magical.

Lately LO will only nap for 20 minutes unless I'm holding her and evenings are a disaster. She refuses to sleep in the RNP and is only content being held until 9 then she happily goes to bed. I'm blaming the 4 month wake up but it's been brutal.

Any advice from other sling mommas? I really want LO to like it, she loves to be able to look out so I'm hoping to do a hip hold if she can tolerate it. Also hoping it doesn't kill my back because I'm planning to use it a lot. If she's fussy at first I'm hoping over time she'll get used to it. Fingers crossed for a magical solution ;-)

The RS takes a little bit of practice to get the hang of.  Make sure you make a good seat with the fabric, try to bring as much as you can between LO's legs and on your belly.  Spread out the fabric so it cups your shoulder as well to ease off weight and pressure by your clavicle.  She make hate it at first but keep at it.   I would start with tummy to tummy then make your way to hip.
