Pregnant after a Loss

Lack of hunger & PGAL brain :/

When I was pregnant with DS2 I seemed like I could never get enough to eat. With this pregnancy I do go through hungry times but I get PGAL brain really bad when I'm not as hungry as usual. Like today I have barely been hungry & I'm 20 weeks along.

On a side note, I did have a stomach virus Mon-Tues so I barely ate those days bc I couldn't keep anything down. I did fairly well Wed-Thurs. I just don't seem to be hungry & when I am hungry no food really sounds good to me. Of course all this is trying to tell me that something is wrong (I heard the heartbeat yesterday & it was strong & fast). I only have my previous pregnancy to go on & I do know every pregnancy is different.

Anyone else just not that hungry? In other words: Is this normal?!

Re: Lack of hunger & PGAL brain :/

  • Hunger comes and goes for me. Some days I eat well, other days nothing sounds appealing at all.

I had a stomach bug on a Sunday and it took me until the following weekend to feel back to normal, even though it only lasted a day and I had a couple days where I felt pretty decent, so it could just still be that.

  • I was kind of wondering if the stomach virus had anything to do with my lack of hunger too. Thanks for your input.

  • I ate half a McDouble & half of a small fry at lunch. I feel pretty full & just couldn't eat the rest. Y'all have made me feel better. Thanks much.

    Stomach virus' are the worst!

  • I'm still almost never hungry at 22 weeks.  But I can feel her wiggling away in there, and she's growing right on track even though I haven't gained any weight.  So far so good.  I just think all pregnancies are different!

I agree with @MollySm that all pregnancies are different. I am far hungrier this time than I was in first or second tri with DD. I was given the "you aren't gaining enough weight" lecture with DD in second tri, but that got evened out when I got the "you are gaining too fast" lecture in third tri, and in the end my body gained a perfect amount.

I also agree that the stomach bug plays a role. I was over mine in less than 24 hours but not eating normally until a week later. I got mine at 5 weeks so it basically rolled straight into morning sickness, which was quite the experience.

@-) Oh just bless you. I can't imagine.
